mike89
Ive taken off the teledials now. I always wanted a more standard looking GTI, so i purchased a set of bathursts. I also raised it up about 15mm all round. It rides soooo much better now Red grill piping has been removed also. Rear arch liners were removed, soaked, brushed down and re-fitted Edited March 26, 2015 by mike89

vworks41
After owning this little wagon for so long, it feels pretty weird looking at it from someone else's thread now!Its looking great though... and very clean, so glad it went to a good home Reckon going back to OEM is a wise choice. Looking forward to future updates.
mike89
Thanks, it's a brilliant car that was clearly pampered all its life. There are still a few little things that need done, but they are merely servicing and and for the sake of freshening it up. After raising the car up and putting the standard wheels on, you really notice how well this car can handle and grip

Rich
If you paint the mirrors it will make a big difference.
payna
Yeah very tidy, wish mine looked this good! I agree with the rich, body coloured mirror caps. I think some standard uk plates would be better too. very nice all the same
mike89
I know that I desperately want it standard looking, but can't bring myself round to painting the mirrors and the pillars. I think the silver tends to look quite plain with silver mirrors.
Pete
Why paint the pillars?
mike89
They're gloss black as well. If I was to paint the mirrors silver, I would also get the standard pillar trims

mike89
The b pillars in standard guise are powder coated black, yes. These were painted gloss black by the previous owner, aswell as the wing mirror covers. Hope that clears things up
