3rd syncro seems to be a common issue with the tdi box for some reason. I have one spare in the garage with the same issue from an old polo.

have you had the car plugged into a scanner? possible crankshaft sensor?

just thought youd want to go with the weight saving like the 3l..... also get shut of as much leccy as poss lol

have u got the cruise control? light weight wheels? swap electrics for keep fit windows keep a couple a 109 relays as spares, they have a tendancy to play up.

as above i would personally buy new bumpers. but if it has to go through insurance due to 2 other cars involved id refuse the offer or ask them to buy you one same condition.....
