Silver!
I really want a 10-22mm, but seeing as it's just a toy I can't really justify the cost.Tamron 18-270mm is a good travel lens if not a bit on the heavy side.I love my 50mm. Pete
I'm thinking of going for a tamron 10-24 for my next lens, use my fifty mostly but it can be a bit restrictive. Loads of good reviews on the tamron as a cheaper alternative to the sigma.
jcarroll
I have a Canon EOS 350D (Almost Retro) with the 18 to 55 lens and sometimes a Tamron 70 to 300mm.Looking at a new camera but ideally looking for live view - was using it on a 550d in Stockholm a few weeks ago and loved it. 450d seems popular even without having live view.It will be a toss up between the 550d and a nikon, maybe 3100... If so id suggest save up and get the canon 60d. Image quality and video quality is all but identical to the 550d however the flip out screen is very handy when filming and functionality of the camera is much better. Thooooom
looking to buy a canon 1000d soon, any opinions?theyre good! and enough for beginners no problem. theres no need to jump straight to something pricey. its not worth it. depends what you want to shoot i guess. for taking to meets and shows to photo cars a 1000d will be fine

puggled
I'm currently using a Nikon D5000 with Nikon 18-200VR, Sigma EX HSM 100-300 f4 and 40 year old Nikkor 50mm f1.4 (which I also use on my Nikkormat FTn).I used to use a Pentax K10D and had a Nikon FA* 300 which is easily the best lens I ever owned. I had a ton of lenses in M42 and M39 fittings as well as an extensive collection of Adaptalls. I got fed up with the lack of options from Pentax and traded it in and switched to Nikon.I've a ton of film cameras too. TLRs, SLRs, Rangefinders, etc.I've not been taking photos for a while, some things happened in my life and I kind of lost my mojo. I really need to get back into it. Been playing about with the HD video too. Get some funky looking stuff wide open with the 50mm.
