  1. Lupo sport cam belt kit including water pump £95 delivered Lupo Sport alloy wheels, these wheels have been professionally tested, refurbished and powder coated £400 delivered
  2. Browsing ebay i saw this rather nice looking lupo sport http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Volkswagen-Lupo-1-4-Sport-Engine-problemo-/250928492964?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item3a6c80f1a4#ht_1326wt_1219 If i had the time and space i would have snapped it up If anyone is interested in buying this car i have a Lupo sport engine (still in the car) that i am willing to give away free of charge as long as i have help removing it from the car, you have the means to take it away and your genuinely looking for a lupo sport for yourself The engine in my car has done somewhere between 78.000 80,000 i can't recall exactly as i removed the dials. It had no splatters from the exhaust, no excessive use of oil. No vibration or any other problems to speak of. It does require a cam belt change (i have the parts i can sell) and maybe a good idea to replace a few things like sensors but apart form that its a sound engine.
  3. I actually really dont mind that. remove the gunshots, DC and any other stickers then i would feel pretty comfortable driving that around.
  4. Are you likley to want to use it for filming? If so id suggest save up and get the canon 60d. Image quality and video quality is all but identical to the 550d however the flip out screen is very handy when filming and functionality of the camera is much better.
  5. I found the same lights being sold for 192EUR on a german site also being sold on ebay.de for the same price form the same company Thats around £170 so even after adding tax and shipping it would still not come to over £300. To be fair its really not hard buying from ebay.de even if the seller have not stated they will send to the UK i have found 90% of sellers are more than willing if they are contacted. Parts form germany often take less time to get to me than if i were to get them from a UK seller. My point is the price they are bing sold for above is way too inflated over what they are actually worth.
  6. Sell the sport as the GTI is a much better keeper!
  7. Well its a bloody good thing i didn't pay for it then haha. They told me it was a whole dash out job hence the stupidly high labor cost. That would also be why i never take my cars to VW unless i really have to.
  8. The good will for the pedal box was cars of 8 years and younger. I was pushing it with mine but it just scraped through. The pedal box it's self is not costly at all it's the fact they have to take out the whole dash to get to it. Having just taken out the dash i am amazed they can do it all in 3 hours
  9. You may as well get a scanguage or auto meter, its really annoying being in kilometers and not miles. Well it is to me anyway, my brain works MPG not kilometers per liter.
  10. I am not so sure they will stick with the up name. The UP was just a concept name it was always set to be a new LUPO. The concept name for the scirocco was iroc There is going to be a VW, Seat, Skoda and potentially an Audi all built on the same format. Personally i think a lupo replacement is a good thing.
  11. I have not put pictures on here shot with any of my kit so its pretty pointless putting what i use but ahh well.. Nikon D700 Nikkor 50mm f/1.4g Nikkor 35mm f/1.8g Nikkor 70-200 f/2.8 VR ll Nikkor 16-85 f/3.5-5.6 vr ( DX lens, its got a very heavy tunnel vision vignette but i keep it for that reason) 1x SB800 2x SB900 2x Manfrotto nano light stands Canon 550d with battery grip Canon 24-70 f/2.8 L My main income is through film and photography so everything i own i use regularly. Anything else i need i hire in or borrow Despite having all the above i would say i get most enjoyment out of my Panasonic TZ20. I can't put a DSLR in my pocket and take it everywhere i go.
  12. It was a matiz i would sure have wanted to drive over the guy in red, those cars are made out of paper thin metal and weigh next to nothing so the chances of seriously harming him was low. The satisfaction of teaching the guy a lesson he will never forget.. priceless. However In reality i live by a mentality best described by a quote form Oscar Wilde 'Always forgive your enemies - nothing annoys them so much'
  13. Has anyone tried eggdrop yet? It looks to be the way forward.

    1.0 or sport

The running cost of the sport will be a lot more as its the most thirsty of all Lupos, tax is also more. Something to keep in mind. Stick to the pizza or have an avocado and pine nut salad instead, If you want healthy then chicken should be off your list completely!
  15. I knew he was an alien, just look at his green little face and hand..
  16. I would be amazed if someone could get 60mpg out of a sport. I dont think i have even got close to 54mpg even when sitting at 60. In fact i get worse MPG sitting at 60 than i do at 100 so i suspect a remap would help quite a bit but maybe he also has a gearbox from a regular 1.4 and then it may not be so out of reach as the sport box is not ideal. Sitting at between 80-100mph i get 40/41mpg this is where i get the best return it equates to 275 to a tank 30L. if i do local driving around where i live its usually 200-210 to a tank and if i do London driving where its far more flat and dont climb so many hills i get 220-240. 100mph is nothing out of the ordinary. Its really a very realistic speeds for a modern car to be going at its just our outdated laws do not reflect this fact. When ever i am at that speed so are many many other cars in the offside lane and traffic is flowing nicely. There is no reason it is any more unsafe than traveling at 70 as long as people are paying attention and giving good space between them and the car in front . Speed does not kill but that said being a tw@ when driving at speed does. Its not really about how fast you drive but when and how you drive fast. If there are a whole load of cars traveling at that speed and the motorway is flowing well most sensible police forces will not bat an eyelid as they know flowing traffic is safe traffic. If you were the only one traveling at 100 when the average speed is far less then then they would have to make an example. Cars do travel at speeds of around 120 on british motorways every single day ok.. i should say night but they are not all losing control or smashing into other drivers and killing them. Granted at night there are far less users on the road but then that is just driving according to the situation. When there is free open road and you have a car that is designed to drive in excess for 150mph there is very little that is going to make doing so particularly dangerous. I drive in the middle of the night a lot and i have yet to see one incident where someone driving in excess of 100mph nearly caused an accident. In the day i see near accidents all the time but more often than not its because of someone going too slow hogging the middle lane causing people to overtake needlessly and undertake needlessly not because someone was traveling at 100mph The message that speed kills on a motorway is a total myth it cannot even be substantiated by any good solid evidence i have seen. Its driving like a tw @ that kills or lack of ability to read the road and drive accordingly to the conditions. drivng at 100mph in a modern car is many times safer than driving at 70 was when the speed limit was first imposed. German car makes design cars with speed in mind and just because a car is sold in the UK market does not suddenly make it unsafe to drive at speeds where the exact same car is being driven far faster than our UK limit on a daily bases I dont know a single person that has not drive on a motorway at 100mph and they are not all reckless boy racers. If you have a car that is capable of driving well within its capable limit at 100mph then you will have done so. Having a Whole"ier than thou atitude is pathetic so enough of the please and enter the real world. Many roads when flowing well have cars doing 85-95mph in the middle lane so to achieve 100mph really is not all that hard and any car that enters into the offside lane has to be doing that or faster or they will be causing danger. Everyone knows sometimes the centre lane slows and usually due to a lane hog up ahead that is doing 60mph who is totally unaware to the fact they are holding up traffic behind them. despite leaving yourself a good gap between you and the car ahead bunching starts to happen. Its always a much safer move to be able to read what is going on ahead and overtake well before the bunching starts to happens and everyone else wants to overtake. Just in the process of driving safley you can hit speeds of 100mph as its safer to drive to how the road is flowing than it is to be a lane hog that thinks driving within the limit is safe and all those naughty people exceeding the speed limit are bad and dangerous when in reality it's those people that are sitting within the limit that are causing far far more danger than anyone doing 80-90-100mph. "The overall road traffic safety of German autobahns is generally better than that of other European highways. A 2005 study by the German Federal Interior Ministry (Bundesministerium des Innern) indicated that Autobahn sections with unrestricted speed have the same crash record as sections with speed limits" the real danger on motorways is this..
  17. Thanks for posting this Its interesting as a project but there still going to get serious range anxiety. Yes the car is light to start with but its still not going to get you a huge range. electric cars will never take off until we get a hybrid type battery that has the characteristics of a super capacitor and can holding a huge amount of juice in a very lightweight package. There is also the question that is never asked much where does the power come form in the first place. Its not really that green it just out of sight out of mind. Personally i think the 1.2tdi is the genius part of the 3L
  18. Last time my horn stopped working i was on some pretty strong medication but thats a completely different story As said above check the fuse also check the heated washer jet fuse if you have them. I am not sure why but it appears to effect the horn it had me stumped for some time. The contacts on the wheel may also be to blame and it could also be the relay thats located behind the fuse box. Chances are your horn is still horny so i would leave it on for now until you have tested all the other things.
  19. That is obviously why blackberry is the gangster phone of choice they know this sizzle
  20. I have B12s fitted to my sport (H&R springs) and i love them to bits. I drive over really bad roads all the time and i am perfectly happy. They are bumpy but they dont crash at all unless you go into a really big pothole and then any setup is going to crash. Dont forget a lot about the ride depends on your wheel weight. If i put the 3L wheels on my sport its blows me away with just how smooth it is compared to the alloys i run with normally.
  21. I have 2 connections so i did them both Virgin Media 50Mb cable 2 different servers O2 ADSL2+ same two servers as above
  22. I was just giving you a heads up. They are illegally spaced that is for sure that is not my opinion check out the regulations for yourself. Even if you do pass an M.O.T you have to be so carful with insurance. Any little thing they can find so they don't have to pay out and they will. Personally i don't care much for what you do but is it not better i say something rather than you going for an M.O.T thinking all is well and getting a surprise if it fails.
  23. Not to put a downer on your project but i would be surprised if you could get this through an M.O.T firstly they look to be illegally spaced and secondly they are not e-marked lights so they have no obligation to pass them anyway. Regulations aside my judgement from years of experience with LED lighting on cars is they look totally inadequate as front indicators.
