Got taken away in a skip when we moved house Talbot Solara, £100, full electrics, only had 1st, 3rd and 5th gears, cut roof off on day of scrapping, drove around all day until it snapped in half ( luckily we weren't injured) Toyota Corrolla, no MOT or handbrake Austin Maestro HLE, highest top gear of any car, would have topped 200mph if the engine could have pulled it, set it on fire whilst trying to weld floor. A reg polo (wifes car) did 150k, sold it to neighbour, cambelt snapped 3 weeks later after numerous warnings, crying shame. Adam K
rich coming from someone who's had 2 saxosIMO a vts is one of the best hot hatches ever. they handle amazingly and are pretty damn quick. i had my vts at the same time as my mr2 turbo as a runaround due to the mr2 being a gas guzzler, oh, and it was standard. Ok its not a VTR but that doesnt make any difference. Its thrashed up and down farm lanes and small country lanes every day of its life and everything still works as it should and drives like the day we picked it up new. Ours is a 1.1 multipoint (later engine after facelift)and it goes more like a 1.4. Id much rather have a Saxo over a corsa any day, ive driven both and there is no contest which drives better. Although i would have to say both saxos and corsas are ruined in the wrong hands, fixing ironing boards to the back and god knows what.Chris Edited February 22, 2007 by cardaft
Linz
1) 1.1 Citroen Saxo (Red) - Standard at the time of its demise (Spectacularly flipped into a field!) 2) 1.1 Citroen Saxo (Dark BLue) - Lowered 45mm on 3-stud multi-spokes, silver mesh grille - T-boned at a junction by a Vectra (Saxo crumpled, Vectra chipped a headlight!)3) 1.1 Citroen Saxo (Posi Blue) - I know! Another one! But I had the wheels and needed cheap insurance, tax, running costs, etc. - Lowered 45mm on 3-stud multi-spokes, silver mesh grille - Sold onto a friend who crashed it twice, fixed it up and sold it on. border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" />(The day I sold it and picked up the Loop! border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" />Had each one for approx a year. In between times I also drove the other half's E30 325i Sport and Scooby WRX - dying for a shot of the Skyline, but I can't reach the pedals! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":angry2:" border="0" alt="angry.gif" /> (It has fixed bucket seats)I'll be the first to admit that I actually liked my Saxos! I had nothing to compare to other than a 106 learner car (almost identical) - they served me fine at the time, and were cheap to run - and I did my bit by destroying two of them! But I have seen the light with the Lupo!
