  1. Both my lupos had this, the material becomes brittle. Scared me to death on my GTi. Easy to fix though if you survive.
  2. Agreed, if you are really desperate to own it then tell him its without doubt the best offer he'll have ..first profit is best etc
  3. far too much. Saw one same age go through auction tonight for similar money and it didn't need airbags etc. I'd offer him £300. On second thoughts it looks a proper slammed ****ter and you'd be better off putting £650 to something half decent. retail car is only 1295 tops anyway.
  4. Get gone! You'll have a great time! You'll be pissed for the first month whilst trying to distance yourself from all the muppets who were your bezza mates in the first week Happy days
  5. Wasn't it brought from where it was bought?
  6. Rattling dash comes as standard on most Lupos at no extra cost. If you take it to VW as I did with my brand new sport back in 2000 they will make it a lot worse if you wish
  7. Well done to you all! The place looks great and I am sure will be a success...Maltby needs a bit of a lift
  8. Really looks fantastic, Matt..a credit to you. the pictures look a bit scary though!
  9. Lemans sounds really good; something I'd like to do in the future. The TT is real experience, you'd love it- it's still not very trendy and a bit leftfield for many but once you've seen bikes going past you at 180MPH + it changes your view of motorsport! I'm off next Wednesday and can't wait
  10. Anybody heading out there? If so have a good 'un PS I will accept my flogging later for this random thread!
  11. You'll have a great time! Just build up to a speed that suits you. With ref to bottoming out..I wouldn't worry about it..if your going fast enough to do that then you'll have other things on your mind, like changing your underpants. Let us know how you get on!
  12. Cleaning the throttle body/ replace plugs/ leads could be a good place to start. Run some good fuel through it and try some injection cleaner. You say there is a warning light...is it the EPC? If so its not uncommon and above remedies should sort. Good luck!
  13. Car sounds and looks good. I wouldn't be put off buying it on the evidence of the video; you don't rev the knackers off it and gearchanges sound smooth. As for the speed, obviously you know the roads and its quiet but there's always someone out there with a 20mph brain when your doing 70.
  14. With regards to your last comment,I can most definitely say that they must have had the handbrake on a couple of clicks, otherwise cataracts. We've got a Boxter 3.2S and a Gti...there is a slight difference in performance
  15. I think it looks quite tame...the kid would struggle to hurt his/ herself at that speed. Compare that to back in the day when you'd get your Grifter/ Chopper into third gear and hit a plywood ramp at 35mph whilst wearing a T-shirt and shorts...now that is dangerous
  16. I'd get your wheels rebalanced as mentioned above. I can recall numerous times Ive had to have them re-done because the fitter hadn't been watching what they were doing. If its not balance, could be a rim or a tyre that's slightly out of round. If its a tyre it should improve as they wear. I know what you mean about these niggling things..I still haven't learnt to live with them.
  17. Just renewed our Gti insurance with More Than for £265 fully comp no claims protected etc which I thought was cheap.
  18. Need to get those gear ratios sorted out.
  19. My car is absolutely fine from cold, no sign of the infamous kangaroo! It's the first Lupo that I've had without any hassles. I've enjoyed reading this thread probably more than I should have (not wishing to capitalise on the misfortune of others!) Watch out for my future thread when my cambelt breaks!
  20. Out of interest do 'gay' hotels exist? Rather like gay nightclubs?
  21. Clean the throttle body; blast some carb cleaner down while the motor is doing about 3000rpm, should do the trick. Try not to run your car with low fuel as this puts crap in the fuel system. My 1.0l Lupo used to need this every 6 months or so. Nowt to worry about.
  22. Your car would trade at about 2K and would would sell well at 2600 depending on how quick you want to get rid.
  23. you've got it..I'd definitely think 2k extra would be worth it. Will let you know about test drive, quite looking forward to it now
  24. You're right, it is smooth engine and coupled with the ride, it does all the right things. Just expected it to be more edgy, doesn't feel like it has 170bhp.
