yup, its 2 years, if you havent sent off for your licence then you have to retake your test. but now your insurance is void, DONT get back on the bike before you have your licence, any accident and youve had it. youd be surprised how often this happens, i almost did it myself but i had to send off for my licence to get it endorsed, ended up me having a warrant for my arrest cos the licence didnt arrive in time, not nice goin to surrender licence and gettin "taken aside!"

its not the enviornment issue i complain about, its the way they take up the roads, there totally unsafe for the roads, check out there ncap ratings, the results will surprise you, there only safety bonus is because of there size. and what about other raod users that might be involved in a crash with one of these things? bul bars are banned yet can still be retro fitted, whats the point in banning them then? and the amount of times ive seen roads completely blocked off cos some bint in her cayenne has stopped to pick up the kids is unreal! but as for the pollution side, diesels dont give off co2, its petrols that are causing the greenhouse effect, envior'mental'ists have just branded 4x4s cos they see smoke and think pollution. did anyone see top gear? the porsche that has exhaust gas thats actually cleaner than the air goin in (in busy cities) weird!

and what to the people who actually need these things? god forbid that any mother of 1 has to drive such common cars as a focus to do the school run! sarcasm mode off now, i agree there a bad idea to have them on the road, but there are some owners of 4x4s that do actually take them off road! (mind im not being sarcastic here) they have there uses and i dont think they should be taxed to kingdom come, think of the driver that will need it most, we'll say a farmer, hard workin, long hours and not a great deal of income, why should they have to pay more tax when a normal car just wont cut it?

only reason this has come about is cos of new legilation on tests and now they have to get more mot centres, cheaper to make an mot last 2 year. but even if its a year or 2 years, an mot is only a test of the vehicles roadworthiness on the day. reminds me of a workmate who was asking me to look at his car for him, waited till weekend then he told me problem "its using brake fluid" "eh? what u on about" "i have to keep topping it up" brake pipe had split and was losing loads of fluid, the pillock had driven it for a week like that! cant see that it has owt to do with manufacturers though, they only way they benefit from mots is parts sales, and a cars not gonna break down more just cos its mot lasts longer

my boss is 6 ft 7 and drives an x5, but when he drives his wifes corsa he cant lift the clutch right the way up! after a few weeks of him drivin it id say that its a thrashed motor! cars are designed to go to 7000 rpm, but not stay there! all cars will be thrashed before u get them, have you seen the car jockeys driving at the docks? jeeezzus!

depends on if your gonna keep it, if your just gonna fix it and sell it then dont bother, but i think your better off getting parts from salvage if you can cos itll save you a fortune and you might be lucky enough to get the same colour! SO easy to fix, i did my mk1 and if id had all the parts to hand it would have took me less than a day. i had no luck finding salvage and it cost me 400+ for parts, but yours doesnt look half as bad as mine did OR see this as a chance to modify, be cheaper to get an aftermaret bumper than oe parts. is the radiator leaking? if not then you dont need to replace it, just place it on a flat surface and stand on it, dont worry, itll still work. p/s pump youll be able to get from any motor factor on an exhange basis, prob about 40 quid (not 100% sure, this was just what it cost for my escort) front bumper, will be about 140 for both bits of the bumper, unless your goin aftermarket then bite the bullet and go to seat slam panel, was one on ebay for 20 quid, only around 40 new shack absorber, look on ebay, theres a full suspension kit for 150 quid imported from germany 2 tyres, go to www.mytyres.co.uk wheel liner, not sure how much but if you can find salvage then theyll prob give you it fee with the rest. so overall your prob looking at around 200 if your lucky, bout 600 if your not

i agree with it soundin a bit chav, but on the right car its ok, a loud exhaust on a gti would be tickety boo, but i wouldnt dream of fittin a loud zorst to a 1.0

doh, yeah forgot, it was cat c. but all repaired with genuine parts (have reciepts). 2k sounds more than i was expectin, was a v reg one same as mine but with 10k more miles went for 1800, but then again there was an older one that went for over 2k, doesnt seem like theres a geniune price level for these cars.

been looking on autotrader, ebay, what car and cant decide on a valuation for the car, its a v reg mk1 1.0s in blue (the darker one) with 50k on the clock, good paintwork, great interior, cd player, uprated speakers, tyres all good tread but no alloys, central locking (aftermarket), it'll have full mot and 6 mnths tax when i come to sell it, just wanna know how much people reckon its worth. not sellin up yet, bought the car for my girlfriend to drive so she can get through her test, and shes surprisingly good so hopefully she'll before summer, and if she does then i want to get back into a toyota, i know people are gonna call me now but there my kind of cars, i love mr2s and celicas and so does she. and the seat is so small its no good for us when it comes to the summer cos we like to go out to the lakes with the dog, and the 1.0 is no motorway performer, i found it a bit scary as its the first small car ive ever owned (first car was a 405, go figure)
