  1. Yeah, do as @Rich says... it is under the tray.
  2. Tyres? Non matching pair or even air pressure imbalance... wheel bearings or cv joints? but you'd hear a grinding or whirring noise at speed or while cornering with power. No idea otherwise. Very odd. @Rich @Skezza @RAB @SILVER or @Sausage might have an idea?
  3. Difficult to diagnose without seeing it. Could be a track rod end ball joint, bottom ball joint or top strut bearing. Or even a bent steering rack? Has the car ever had a bump or a hard curbing? I'd jack it up, wheels off the ground and see what it's like to move then. If still not obvious, I'd pop the track rd ends off and see how the rack feels on its own. And while disconnected, see how the whole suspension feels each side. That will isolate where the friction is. Should be finger tip effort on the steering wheel.
  4. uh, ok. If subframe bent or moved, chances are it'd take a load of work to rejig it. Still a shame after all the hours spent on it. Do you have a pic of the Tigra? Bet they were shook up a bit too.
  5. Air filter access flap for my SDI. Plus one or two other bits that I can't think of right now. I've already bought some bits off someone else on here, so most of my needs have been fulfilled- just need to collect them. Rear beams and front subframes are worth a lot BTW. As are good TDI engines. There have been a lot of comments on your video... Just shows how many people have been affected by it. And a LOT of hate towards that Skoda driver. I wonder if they've been told about it by the police. I'm sure it'll go to court and you'll be called as a witness (you can claim costs there too).
  6. Where are you? I've had 2 done so far by a very experienced guy I know... Takes about 2h of work max. £50. Split the case/pull the guts/remove bearing cases/power wash/press new bearings in/rebuild... done. Just make sure you get decent brand bearings like SKF, Timken etc. Ebay was the cheapest for a complete kit.
  7. That is good news (cops...). I'll help if you need 'legal. They have no defence for their actions that I can see... You can even see the Skoda's advanced emergency brake light system flashing when he/she was on the wrong side of the road, panicing about to have a head on. Complete idiot. Should be banned for driving like that in those conditions. The video says it all really. Damn good reason to have a decent dash cam. All mine now have super clear 1080P on a TV (front only though- Crosstour brand). You should be able to claim salvage and any other reasonable costs by the way (like taxi home). One of my cars was nicked a couple of years ago (a Mk2). A Sunday night. I had just spent the whole weekend building and fitting a bespoke new Cunifer brake pipe system, calipers, compensator, discs and pads. Hours of work and parts. Gone. All that time lost is the worst part.... Hours for nothing. That really hurt. But, looking up- you have loads of bits for sale now! What do you have...? Here come the vultures.
  8. Holy cr@p. Not much you could have done there. Clearly the d!ickhead who was tailgating you. I really do hope that the cops get him.

    Untidy GTI

    About £2.5 - 3k I'd say.
  10. Nice. Welcome to club lupo Don't forget that lupos like to have the oil in their gearboxes changed every 30k or so.
  11. No idea?! They haven't been on here in almost 9 months. But if the car goes perfectly, hey why waste time chatting! "Enjoy" is my philosophy. I just love finding out what makes Lupos go wrong though.... 😎
  12. Mmmmm. Lovely little motor. may I ask what you paid, only to see where the market is going?
  13. Welcome to club lupo! Lots of pics of before and after please. Good satisfying stuff restoring a Lupo back to mint...
  14. Unless you've got deadlocking, put your door buttons back to standard... stops your car being nicked.
  15. Shiny! Welcome to club lupo
  16. A long pipe- I use 25mm black electrical conduit. It looks like it is part of the original car. The end is under the driver seat.
  17. Yes, i put a new pipe in place to divert oil breather fumes down to the road. Then no oil gets sucked into the engine. Also, you might want to remove and clean the throttle body. Then lubricate it well.
  18. SVO... not good for micro hole nozzle injectors (but ok for old skool spray types though). Boiling acidic glyerols festering inside the pump and injectors every time you park. Eurgh.
  19. I have to be honest and say I do cheat. On my SDIs, I've deleted EGR, dumped the oil breather fumes to the road and gas flowed the inlet ducts (filled in the egr holes). Now I get a real resonance at about 2200 revs. It just sings at that speed, but to be super eco, I'd need to do about 60 on a long run. I don't have the patience. Ideally a longer gearing in fifth.
  20. Holy thread ressurection! But yes, on one of my SDIs, both front and rear subframes need changing. Had to weld both already.
  21. Main reason i have them. Cheaper to run day to day than just about any other car. Fox, up, smart, aygo, i10 etc... And being nearly 20 years old now, rock bottom parts prices.
  22. No intermittant faults recorded either. Hmmm. It will return....
