my cars '79 T reg Datsun 120Y, sh*t brown, wing mirrors blew off on way to Blackpool

Citroen visa 2 cylinder taught me the art of late/ no braking. Got taken away in a skip when we moved house

Talbot Solara, £100, full electrics, only had 1st, 3rd and 5th gears, cut roof off on day of scrapping, drove around all day until it snapped in half ( luckily we

weren't injured)

Toyota Corrolla, no MOT or handbrake

Austin Maestro HLE, highest top gear of any car, would have topped 200mph if the engine could have pulled it, set it on fire whilst trying to weld floor.

A reg polo (wifes car) did 150k, sold it to neighbour, cambelt snapped 3 weeks later after numerous warnings, crying shame.

Peugeot 205 GTi, so on V-car but never spotted it, spentt 5k on driveshafts/ wheel bearings.

brand new Fiat Cinq s rather good car

cinq sporting, slower and more unreliable than the average dustbin

brand new Lupo Sport in fantasia green, equally unreliable but slightly better looking

Fiat uno 1.4, great car

Red Lupo 1.0E, 1 previous mental lady owner, new short motor fitted before I bought it due to intense banging noises when cold.

Passat 1.8T amazing car, faster then it should be, still proud owner

Lupo Gti

rich coming from someone who's had 2 saxos

IMO a vts is one of the best hot hatches ever. they handle amazingly and are pretty damn quick. i had my vts at the same time as my mr2 turbo as a runaround due to the mr2 being a gas guzzler, oh, and it was standard.

knew id get some numpty saying that rolleyes.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> and a saxo guy at that coffee.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":coffee:" border="0" alt="coffee.gif" />

In all aspects its a show car yet unlike most it has the go to match the show i did it to stand out/draw attention and got to say out of any car i have ever done or been involved with this is the car that has brought me all the complements and admiring glances on a level no other car ever will nearly every part of it has been modded and that pic shows it before it was finnished just before it was crashed into it sat 50mm drop in dished 16's and looked sweet as hell

A VTs is a quick good handling car without doubt but it will fall apart long before this corsa ever does and for that reason alone id have the corsa anyday :evil2:

Adam what was your first saxo? and what mini was it assuming the classic?

go to match the show ??

am i missing something ?

100bhp and it shifted when it was on the road to put into perspective it easily dusted paxo Vtr's and driving this for a short while it felt quicker than an arosa sport shades.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shades:" border="0" alt="shades.gif" /> and to be fair what i was meaning is it isnt like nearly all the other combat kitted corsas which seem to be 1.0 12v's coffee.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":coffee:" border="0" alt="coffee.gif" />

Im only onto my thrid car sad.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> so the list isnt exciting wink.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> :

1) Citroen AX 1.0 Debut (Engine was gone after my cousin ran it without water so fitted a saxo engine)

2) Seat Arosa 1.0 S (still got)

3) Seat Arosa TDi S (still got)

Not true, weve had a saxo for 6 years now, its never once gone wrong, its only needed the usual tyres and brakes. Ok its not a VTR but that doesnt make any difference. Its thrashed up and down farm lanes and small country lanes every day of its life and everything still works as it should and drives like the day we picked it up new. Ours is a 1.1 multipoint (later engine after facelift)and it goes more like a 1.4.

Id much rather have a Saxo over a corsa any day, ive driven both and there is no contest which drives better. Although i would have to say both saxos and corsas are ruined in the wrong hands, fixing ironing boards to the back and god knows what.

1) 1.1 Citroen Saxo (Red) - Standard at the time of its demise (Spectacularly flipped into a field!)

2) 1.1 Citroen Saxo (Dark BLue) - Lowered 45mm on 3-stud multi-spokes, silver mesh grille - T-boned at a junction by a Vectra (Saxo crumpled, Vectra chipped a headlight!)

3) 1.1 Citroen Saxo (Posi Blue) - I know! Another one! But I had the wheels and needed cheap insurance, tax, running costs, etc. - Lowered 45mm on 3-stud multi-spokes, silver mesh grille - Sold onto a friend who crashed it twice, fixed it up and sold it on.

Saxo.jpg border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" />

(The day I sold it and picked up the Loop! 74b9d9fe.jpg border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" />

Had each one for approx a year.

In between times I also drove the other half's E30 325i Sport and Scooby WRX - dying for a shot of the Skyline, but I can't reach the pedals! angry.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":angry2:" border="0" alt="angry.gif" /> (It has fixed bucket seats)

I'll be the first to admit that I actually liked my Saxos! I had nothing to compare to other than a 106 learner car (almost identical) - they served me fine at the time, and were cheap to run - and I did my bit by destroying two of them! But I have seen the light with the Lupo!

old style minis are crap. they are uncomfortable, bouncy, no that great on fuel, noisy, slow, what the hell is there to like about them?

only reason i got it was cos i needed a car for a few weeks while i found the ibiza cupra i wanted. this was in 2003 when i got my first cupra.

Been driving for 12 years, and didn't get my own 'real' car till I had been driving for 4 years.

So:

- 1986 Vauxhall Astra Van - £350 gift from parents

- 1989 Rover Metro GTA - (Bought for £150 as an MOT failure, never made it back onto the road!)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- 1994 Ford Fiesta Zetec 1250cc - First car I bought, which was useable!

- 1997 Ford Fiesta Zetec 1250cc - Upgrade! LOL

- 2002 VW Polo 9N 1.4TDI - Shared car, bought with GF.

- 2000 VW Polo 6N2 GTI - Got sick of sharing! LOL

- 2002 VW Polo 9N 1.9TDI Sport

- 2002 VW Golf GTI 1.8T

- 2003 VW Lupo Sport
