Philplop
Cheers. Not really a car update, but I've shamelessly pinched Chris260's idea and mate a camera mount for the inside of my car.Which allows me to do this:
vworks41
Now thats a neat idea. Did you manage to stop at that cross roads
jon_273
Excellent! I think it was Kielder where Chris brought his mount, but he didn't have it set up for video. It should come in handy this weekend though And do I hear this playing
Philplop
Of course I managed to stop for the crossroads! Yeah, it was ages ago he showed us it, but I've never seen anything he's taken with it. And that's why I made it. And you certainly do hear QOTSA! Bit of Whitesnake on before that too. chris260
I forgot i made that mount! Yours looks better than mine actually, i got too much vibration off the seats from having it just off the one headrest so was going to build one that went across both but forgot all about it. Might get back on the case now!
Picola
You could also swing it the other way and start up a little business. If you catch my drift.
Philplop
I have no idea what you're talking about... Fitted this today. Dunno what it's like yet though, as the car's still up on axle stands in the garage. I'll try it tomorrow. Better be worth it, took over 4 hours! Also note the lovely brown ashtray cover. Stupid plastic. Edited September 17, 2008 by Philplop

EaRNi!
why does your ashtray cover look a funny colour?
Philplop
It's much more than a knob though. Is yours not? It's not as brown as that really, but I was led to believe all of the ashtray covers change colour because they're made of a different plastic to the other bits and they react to sun differently. If you complained while it was under warranty it got replaced. Mine is still dash coloured. Oh and nice short shift, is that knob a lift up neck one? So it gives you shorter shifting between the gears now?
Philplop
Now you tell me! I could have swapped it!Actually, I think I was gonna mention it the first time I took it for a service and I forgot about it. Yeah, it's a lift up reverse, wonder how long that'll take to get used to! Yup, the gears are much closer together now. It's not like they were very far apart to start with, mind, so not sure if it'll be worth it. But I've had it for over a year now and only just got round to fitting it.
