Nicki Posted April 30, 2006 Report Share Posted April 30, 2006 (edited) Had a phone call from my Uncle a little while ago, his granddaughter has died.Laura was rushed into hospital last night with suspected meningitis & was immediately put onto life support.The hospital threw everything they could at her to help her, but unfortunately Laura lost her fight for life earlier this evening.She was just 16.Please spare a thought for how her parents (my cousin & her husband) & Laura's two sisters must be feeling, along with the rest of our family.Laura Jane Pates - Rest in peace. Nicki Posted May 1, 2006 Author Report Share Posted May 1, 2006 Just had more information about it from my Uncle.Apparently, Laura was pronounced as brain dead yesterday, but because it was suspected meningitis, her body has had to be kept "alive" on life support since yesterday evening so they could do further tests.Her official time of death was 5.30pm *today*.They will be opening an inquest into her death & the events leading up to her death.A post mortem will be carried out in the next few days.F*cking hell.
