Legend, for its active and passive participants includes happenings that are outside the realm of "possibility", defined by a highly flexible set of parameters, which may include miracles that are perceived as actually having happened, within the specific tradition of indoctrination where the legend arises, and within which it may be transformed into many things over time, in order to keep it fresh and vital, and realistic

I like that :D

Forgot how nice it Hans looked

I want it!

Häns looked better when I owned him... No chrome stripping on the lower bumper grille and the correct size tyres were on him... :(

How does the engine perform, power delivery, mpg etc?

Surprisingly well... Intake temperatures are a little high at the moment so looking to get a Front mount before the summer months arrive.

Current average MPG is 48.2mpg and thats both motorway runs and giving it a good toot round my local country roads :)

The power delivery is Emense for a diesel. Turbo kicks in very quick and the power stays right through until 5000rpm if you request it to!

See you Saturday :)

Get your FMIC out.

I can imagine this being used to best of its ability, but hidden away very discreetly.

Just the way we like it.

You are THE Diesel God :D

p.s. That spec list needs a hybrid :)

p.s.s. Why does the IC have a random weld in the middle (bottom)?

Hmm not sure about the random weld but it has them on the top as well, on both the front and rear face. All the Forge MofoSport coolers seem to have the same. Almost as if its there to mark where the forge logo should be etched?

No doubt about that.

Me and my mate John (from Awesome GTI) Spent a good couple of hours working on the car today.

We started off by stripping the front end down to get ready for the intercooler install:

Here's a nice pic of the intercooler mounted in position:

A rather nice pic showing my big calipers, Neuspeed roll bar and the shiny new Forge Motorsport pancake pipe:

Whilst we had the front end of the car, I decided to use the reciprocating saw to cut the pointless thing blocking up my air intake:

After hearing a few things on UK MKIV's about the intercooler damaging the aircon condenser, I had to make sure there was plenty of clearance:

Now with the bumper back on and the grilles covering it up its nice and discreet!

Whilst the car was in the shop we did a few other things:

John custom fabricated a short shifter using the original shifter;

We adjusted the rear anti-roll bar upto the stiffest setting;

and I Hoovered out the airbox and cleaned the air filter.

Here's a pic of how much crap came out of my air filter after only 8,000 miles! At least I know its doing its job lol.

Overall it drives a fair bit nicer now! Doesn't lose power after half an hour of blasting around. I expected it to a little bit more lag But you can't really feel any lag at all, It seems to have smoothed the low down torque out a bit and doesn't seem to be as aggressive, yet feels a lot lot stronger on boost :)

First time Ive read this topic :)

Awesome car, love what you have done to it. Just looks right, not too much etc.

Anything else planned for it ?

Thanks mate. I plan to do a little bit more sound deadening (already done the bonnet and bootlid) I want to do the roof, the whole trunk area, the doors, and the firewall. If the turbo ever goes pop, I'll be getting one of these for it: VNT17/22 Hybrid

Some pics of the front:

nope, at the moment there's no real reason to put it on the rolling road, as an FMIC should never add any BHP or Torque..

took some logs though :) Intake temperatures on normal driving are on average 12.9Ëšc colder and when thrashing it through some B-Roads, 37.2Ëšc colder :)

I'm yet to do rolling road logs but the ones I've done on the road are more than adequate. Ideally the map could do with a little bit of modification to tie the rest of the mods all up with this new addition.

Possibly see 195bhp but wouldn't expect any more torque really.

FMIC looks good peaking out :)

Nice fr in the background too, is that a derv ?

Yeah that's my Mum's Ibiza FR. 130PD engine. It'd only done 6,000 miles when we bought it just over a month ago and we got it for an absolute bargain at £8250 and on a 57 plate too!
