Cheers Ash!

I made most of the progress within the first month (wheels, vinyl, etc.) It's just bits and bobs now to be honest.

I know man, been keeping a quiet eye on this! Look forward to seeing where it goes!

The resemblance has not gone unnoticed

Hehe - yeah, had that said in the past MORE than a few times!

Mind you, Vin has a few years on me - he was born in 1967. I ain't that old! At least I was born in the following decade ;)

OK, so Cambridge light time. I am going to include a guide (of sorts) in case anyone is interested..... If you're not interested, I'm still gonna include it anyway :tongueout:

Before they were on, they were already attracting quite a bit of attention (mainly from Oscar my house rabbit )

Sorry if this is a bit like teaching you to suck eggs (who the hell invented that phrase anyhow?!?! it doesn't make sense!), but the two screws enable you to remove the bulb holding section

In the middle you can see the orange filter that clips in the indicator section.

A closer view

So I started at it with long nose pliers and cutters, but doing it this way it was going to take all day! :surprised:

0091339577881507.jpg

I did a few bits, but then decided to bring in reinforcements - in the shape of a soldering iron :)

0101339577882090.jpg

The iron cuts through the plastic like a hot knife through butter! It was not long then until the first light was finished. See the difference!

Now, when I did the first light, I popped the filter out and attempted to cut and snip and melt it - most fiddly. This time I left the filter in, and just "burned" a circle out of the base

This meant a much bigger piece came out, and it would therefore be a much less laborious process

0141339577883788.jpg

To be honest, doing it this way, the 2nd light took me about 5 minutes (the first took me almost an hour!)

The bits from the 2nd light:

As opposed to the 1st........

Anyway, with the pair done now, all that remains is for me to pop into town and get some silver/amber indicator bulbs......

I will of course report back later with pics

Glad you like pal ;)

what colour is your indicator then?? you had to get an orange bulb?

No Pat, I got silver bulbs that flash amber. Philips and Osram do them - about £15 a pair....

I was the same - was looking for a guide and could not really find one with pics, that's why I decided to do my own. Glad you found it useful and I can't stress enough to definately use a soldering iron! ;)

what you got planned next joti

Done pretty much all I wanted to it now Kris. Saying that, there is ONE thing that I may look at doing (aesthetic) that I have not seen done before, but at the moment I cannot find anyone who can do the job! That's all I'm saying at the moment - top secret............
