Quite tempted by these in the classifieds...

Quite 'loud' though so Mrs Koop might kill me  Given me the idea of getting more cloth to match the door cards & headliner to retrim the dash bits though hmmm!

I've put a bid in for Cartman's replacement :shifty:

Also picked up spray glue so retrimming will commence tonight. Wish me luck!

Started by cutting roughly round the old cover, leaving a few inches leeway

Iron & brew at the ready...all the essentials

Spot of ironing....

IMAG0825.jpg

Sprayed with carpet glue, stuck, pulled & stretched to fit. There was more stretch in the fabric than I expected which is awesome

Trimmed round the edge

IMAG0819.jpg

The carpet glue sprays in a straight line which is very handy for covering a thin line round the edges

One done :D

The flowers do look a bit pink, they look more white in brighter light. Mrs Koop says to me the other day 'are you not worried it's going to look a bit gay?' I said I can handle it, I'm comfortable in my masculinity, or lack thereof

Anyway soon got onto no. 2

IMAG0827.jpg

And it was rather late so decided to leave the front(s) til tonight. Got the handle off though, this glue was the issue

IMAG0824.jpg

My trusty modding partner Snoopy the hairdryer managed to soften it up a wee bit so it was malleable enough to pull & cut away, then I just pressed on the clips with a screwdriver & popped it out. So we're all ready to rock now, front sections are cut out ready. I expect the fronts to be much more difficult but I've had some good practice, did the second one better & quicker so I'm glad I started on the rears.

Was dark when I got them in, pics fitted later!

Cheers mate :D

Here they are in, complete with crap photos

This one has a dark patch where the glue's seeped through :(

IMAG0831.jpg

This was the first one, tried spraying the glue on bit by bit, the second one I just gave the whole thing an even coating which worked much better. I kept having to wash glue off my hands every 5 minutes so I didn't get it all over the cloth

Cheers dude, I've thought about it but it might be a bit too much as I'm doing the headliner too.

Apparently my passenger door used to be taff green

It's been my ambition to own a taff green loop for some time now & I am apparently one door closer to living that dream

Anyway got the front door cards done...
