brabus4
Does anybody on here do it or know of a company that does for good prices? Looking to have most my interior plastics covered, door pillars, roof and badges done Hey matey, dunno about companies down your way, but it'll save you a lot of cash if you buy the vinyl and DIY it. I used to work for a vinyl wrapping company and it's easy if you're willing to take your time with it. It'll only cost you for material which can be cheap enough. Other than that, all you need is a good craft knife with plenty of spare (sharp) blades, a felt squeegy for larger areas to get bubbles out (can be bought cheaply or you can make your own), a hairdryer to soften the vinyl (makes it stretchy and corrects any mistakes) and plenty of patience! Make sure your surfaces are clean and degreased before application and, voila! Even if you make the odd mistake, the vinyl is usually cheap enough to replace and can be removed at any time. If you do get any bubbles, they can be easily removed with a small pin and a soft rag and are usually unoticeable after that.If you do decide to give it a bash, it can become very addictive, you'll wrapping everything in sight before you know it! Copy paste the [ img] [/ img] link and will come up like the tweek i gave to your post Is that the 3M stuff or a cheaper ebay version? brabus4
This is the 3M stuff, these were my first attempts at covering the switches . . . Bloody hard to do on a surface that's like rubber, so I found it best to sand it back a little first to reveal the plastic underneath. Bickerton
Got anywhere that does it for a good price, as seems hella expensive at most places
Hipwell
DIY first, if you can do it, it will save you a fair bit of money. The surface needs to be smooth and cleaned for it to stick well. A hairdryer is vital for any curves, heatgun is much easier to use though. You can usually find the perfect size for a good price on eBay. Or Underground Graphics is usually pretty cheap, can also use the discount code: CARBONDISCOUNT to get 5% off. But make sure you get 3M Di-Noc vinyl, otherwise it will look rubbish, you can tell its the cheap stuff from a mile away.
brabus4
Got anywhere that does it for a good price, as seems hella expensive at most placesI'd suggest approaching local suppliers to the trade, have a look in Yell.com. or . . .If your a chancer (like me), you could approach your local vinyl wrapping place and express your interest in having them wrap your car bonnet or roof, for example. After they give you their quote, ask them for a few different samples to take away and ponder over as they'll always have a scrap box full of various different types and colours measuring anywhere between 500mm x 500mm to much larger sizes (they usually don't keep sizes smaller than this) . . . if they think they're getting your business, they'll gladly give you some to take away, we used to do it all the time if a customer wanted a few samples. It's just off cuts at the end of the day which are insignificant in the grand scheme of things. They probably won't ever be used again by the company, it just makes more sense to hold on to the off cuts rather than throwing money away!If you ask for a few off cuts to take away, they'll never think your looking to tackle the job yourself. brabus4
I had some lying around from my time working with vinyl. Used the last of it, otherwise I could have sent you some through!

It's only scrap to them at the end of the day and if it's only gonna cost you a trip over to your local wrapping place, then it's all good! You never know, you might come away with a really cheap quote to have your bonnet and roof done at the same time!
