DanGB
Been busy again today with car stuff.Firstly, had the two cambelts, water pump and aux belt done.Got the two belts in the kit and waterpump for £125 off lupoboz (Dale) on here, and £157 for the labour, aux belt, and coolant, which is quite reasonable I think. This afternoon ive been doing a few bits. Fitted seat covers to stop all the horse hairs and stains ruining the seats over the winter.Painted the calipers and edges of brake discs (hub part)...Before: (after a quick scrub, brush and a sand to remove some paint peeling off)After: (Quick splash of Hammerite smooth silver paint with a couple of brushes)Finally, finished the heatshield and re-fitted it.This is what it looked like before:A really dull finish with 10 years of wear on it. It had a load of black spot on it which were almost impossible to remove but came off eventually with much usage of an electric sander. I havent completely done the bottom part as you dont see it and its just not worth the effort. It had like a coating or maybe just an oxidisation on it which was real hard to remove before it could become shiny. Not for the faint heated! Days of work; its not perfect, but it will do.After:Thats all for now, currently refurbishing the front wiper blades.

DanGB
More shinyfication goings on..The engine top was looking a bit worn, paint was drity and a bit scratched and a few bubbles. So thought it might be a good idea to do something with it, to match the other shiny bit. Was debating painting it, but decided just to polish instead..So from this:To this.Came up great after removing the paint with loads of sanding, some wire wool, and a buffing wheel on the end of a drill. As a good as a mirror finish really. Very pleased Edited November 7, 2010 by DanGB

DanGB
Well... its back out for show season, been neglected and supremely dirtied with all the horse muck and hairs!!Have just spent the last three weeks getting it up to *perfect* condition. Hope to impress a few peope tommorow at Early edition, especially as its ten years old now with 107,000 on the clock!Machined polished it a few weeeks ago so virtually swirl free now. Hope to give Ryan a run for his money with cleanliness too heres a preview.. Edited April 16, 2011 by DanGB
