OnelifeLiveit!
Little update- I sold my bathursts to RobGti a while back - in fact we did a trade for his engine tinware. So I only had the Schmidts which are definately not suited for winter use. Had a good look around for a while & got these from Ayrton on here - fully refurbed & mint. 15 x 7j's azev's. I've been told they will sit flush on the fronts but need spacers for rears because of the eta. Will have a play! Where do you guys get good quality bolts? JoeA
Venom Motorsport sell decent bolts iirc

The development has mainly centred around the sound system. It was never my intention to get it rebuilt again but the quest for better just led it further & further. Thanks for good wishes & I shall update the thread with further news! ;-)

wikkid911
Just got up to date on this project. I love the way you just decide to alter the shape of things and next thing you know you have a fully fabricated and trimmed piece that fits perfectly and looks fantastic. I dread to think of what I would end up with if I decided to make a new dash! Anyway, well done, look forward to seeing more of your work. I dread to think of what I would end up with if I decided to make a new dash! Anyway, well done, look forward to seeing more of your work. Thanks for looking! There is a very clever chap up north who has done the fabrication & has spent a LOT of time thinking & planning ahead on this one. He has worked & owned many VW's but has also worked on loads of other vehicles. I think it helps to work outside the 'scene' as it brings new fresh ideas- you are gonna love my next update!! Very cool feature! ;-)
OnelifeLiveit!
Love this little update! :-)In the sound quality sound off competitions some of the top cars do away with the rear view mirror whilst demoing. The reason? The soundstage which pans out in front & around you gives depth, height & width of sound - all the various instruments & the vocal is there right around you.The vocal tends to be centre so the rear view mirror is a distraction - particularly with a small car like the Lupo.Dave the fabricator has firstly built a pod for a camera pointing out the rearAnd then covered it in Alcatera So we have a camera to get rear view & now this must be seen from the front. So a module was made within the roof for a screen to show image. And the view from the rear :-)

jamiea7x
yea not bad buddy, when you think roof and screen you think flip down, but lowering the roofliner and having it inset is a neat touch,

OnelifeLiveit!
Next update! The new roof panel (thanks RobGti), was purposely bought with the sunroof cutout, even though I don't have one, to add another feature to the build. The cutout section is filled & will have a subtle backlit perspex section. This will allow some sound reflection & some interior light as the front roof light has been replaced with the roof console. The roof panel has been covered in black perforated Alcantera & the console has had some added features. The switches are for system power & lights & the voltmeter was rescued from the previous build, which handily is Genesis logo shape. There is also a speaker built into the console just for the hands free kit! Getting real close to finishing now! ;-) Edited November 22, 2012 by OnelifeLiveit!
