Silver!
Direct Line wanted over £300 for me. I queried and they said it wouldn't drop below £300 as it was a GTI.I moved to Admiral and pay £194 (+ £20 for paying over 10 months).46, fully comp + business, max no claims, protected no claims, 3 points for speeding, coilovers lowered 50mm. They won't touch you if you are lower 50mm though.
Philplop
Brentacre and HIC are well worth a try. Specialist VW insurers and really helpful, in my experience.

Clairey Fairy
I love being a girl, we get such sweet deals on Insurance sometimes. I moan quite alot about paying over 700 quid for my GTi but i suppose it really isnt that bad considering im 20 with no NCB.
heartagram
Brentacre and HIC are well worth a try. Specialist VW insurers and really helpful, in my experience.I'm with Brentacre and I have to say they are one of the very few companies that have good customer service. You normally end up speaking to the same few people unlike larger companies where you can never speak to the same person twice. Also its worth taking into account that they will let you do anything you want to the car as long as you don't go over a BHP limit. So you can modify and tinker as you please and it won't up your insurance. Other companies charge you to amend your policy when you modify stuff as well as charging you for the mods which can work out quite expensive if your constantly tweaking stuff and changing stuff. Where as Brentacre will only charge you if you change the car thats on the policy. They are slightly more expensive than other insurers but only really if you buy the insurance and then never make changes to it. But with my old insurance company I could be on hold for half an hour and then speak to someone who understand the concept of the English language but could barely speak it. Brentacre your never on hold for very long. For me its well worth paying the extra £80 over a cheaper insurer because in my opinion you get a much better service. If your getting a better service you don't mind paying a bit more for it. I don't at least anyway. £80 over 12 months only works out at £6.50 a month. When you think of it like that you'd be foolish not to go with them if your planning on modding your car!I think the only catch is that they only insure people 19 and upward. VinnyGTI
AS above, i have found that they have a great customer service, as for the price i think Adrian Flux were £50 cheaper but they charge £50 everytime you change something on your policy. So basically when i had to change some info on my policy with Brentacre, they were cheaper overall!Vinny
