  1. Hmm not a bad looking car and also not one I'd considered. Just a tad too long. Why are cars so bloody big these days
  2. I have looked at the fiesta ST and really ought to take a look at one in the flesh, but first impressions for me haven't been great. Budget wise circa £10k. I could push to £12k with some finance but I'd like to avoid this if possible. I was considering the Polo 180 bhp but from what I can gather the DSG gearbox is pretty much an automatic and I wouldn't be too happy to give up my clutch pedal. Also the 4m length will be too much of a stretch for my garage. 12 months ago I was eagerly awaiting the UP GT but that's going to be released god knows when. I've been warned off by so many different people/garages but I still keep coming back to the Cooper S JCW. I can't help it I just like the character. It's the same thing that drew me to the Lupo. I've also thought what about one of the last Lupo GTi's. I always wanted the GTi but costs meant I couldn't afford one. HELP
  3. Well after 8 and a half years of ownership my faultless Lupo TDi will be picked up by its new owner at the weekend. I'm actually really gutted about the situation and I'll really miss the car. Question is what do I replace it with? When I bought it I was much younger and needed to consider insurance and running costs. I have the luxury of not having to worry about these things any more. Garage constraints mean the new car must be no longer than 3800 mm and no wider than say 1950mm (inc mirrors). I really would like to try a petrol turbo as my brother has an Abarth 500. Looks aside the 500 pulls really well. Suggestions? What have you all moved on to?
  4. Yes I saw it this time roud (repeat show) and the Damage was to the offside not nearside. Clear to see on the last two corners of the test track. If they've borrowed that from someone for the day I don't suppose they'll be too pleased.
  5. Can't see the point going on an 18 month contract when they come out yearly. It would mean in 18 months I have to make the choice to get the already 6 month old one or carry on on the contract for another 6 months until the new one comes out.
  6. I've been reading about the iphone 3GS since January and I want one so bad. The cost is stupid. 24 month contract is going to cost me £1015 (inc phone cost) but I still don't care. I want one that badly
  7. Managed to keep my job. 2 out of 4 of us got made redundant. Doesn't get much better than that. But then the Lupo flew through it's MOT again. Good times, but lost some mates, Bad times.
  8. That is a rubbish ad. Looking forward to the season though
  9. No its a side exit exhaust as it's the best in the range for towing with. Standard drums to the rear
  10. Problems - Good luck finding one they are rocking horse for ones in good condition. Don't worry about the 3 cylinders from what I can tell so long as you do regular services they would take some hammer if you wanted too. CAM belt is a belt. Should have been done at 60k. Others will say 40 but mine came off at 58k looking brand spanking. Just make sure if it has been done the water pump was done at the same time
  11. It's a difficult one. A couple of people got laid off last week as they said they had run out of work by 1pm everyday. So I definitely won't be saying that any time soon. I have work to do but I'm not as busy as I used to be. I'm taking MUCH more time over jobs and spreading them out with games of Solitare, Spider Solitare, Minesweeper, Hearts, Freecell and the odd game of Pinball. Can't go on the internet it's all tracked and timed. We did have a paper planes game once built into an excel file. Thought that was fine however it transpired it talked to a web site every game to see how far up your high score was. That nearly got us bollocked but they couldn't find out what we were doing so we played dumb. So i'm up for suggestions of what to do to fill my days also.
  12. If you have an ice cream maker I saw amazon sell a ben and jerrys recipe book
  13. If you take notice they do have different driving styles ie gear changing holding the wheel etc
  14. Had my TDi done at just under 60k. Belt was hardly worn. Also had the tensioners and the water pump done at the same time. Think the genuine VW pump was about £25 by the time I took the old one back.
  15. Not sure if you have a choice but if you can buy then singally just buy the one
  16. No it's quite funny but seen as you needed the joke explaining I can see you're easily confused
  17. lol 501's are like 10p each trade if that
  18. 24 5 years NCB just got Natwest insurance for £206 Don't forget to use Quidco
  19. Did someone say £30 a year to tax the TDi
