  3. I got a pollybushed one from Nfbr on here
  4. I have the following: Nfbr gearbox mount Fully pollybushed White line rear arb Wertec coilovers G60 carriers Brembo disk Tarox strada pads had ds2500 previously which were excellent but expensive Braided lines all round and new hard pipes ( car is on 160,000 miles ) Have standard brake line fluid at the mo as it is unlikely I will do any track days Have lift off oversteer when pressing on, front is dialed in with little under stear with the geo set up for fast road use, ie have some ground clearance Have done 50,000 ish miles with the above set up When something breaks I replace it with whatever the best component available is It's noisy but I often choose this over the company car if I am in the office ands it's a 72 mile round trip

    Ht leads

Hi chaps, Going to replace the ht leads on my Gti, Is there any benifits or has anyone used non standard leads such as the magnecore that awsome supply. Thanks in advance Angelo
  13. I went with the standard powerflex bushes, purchased though nfbr. Fitted no problem, no noise issues squeeking etc My bushes were shot so can't comment on any improvement as they were changed when I upgraded my suspension.

  15. Speak to al at awsome, I got mine from there. There was a lad who went for blisten shocks and matched springs and said there was not much difference. H&R do shocks and springs for a similar price as the weitecs. I have done a couple of thousand miles on mine now, I don't find them that bad to the pint when I don't need to carry any tools I take the loop instead of my work e class estate.
  16. I have them on mine, after a while they settle down, I would say as long as you don't go too low they are fine for everyday use, I have done about 2000 miles since I fitted mine. I have poly bushes on all the suspension along with the white line rear arb and a lower front stru brace. Smooth roads ride is excellent, motorway driving can get a bit bouncy around 70 if it is a poor surface, above that speed (private road) the suspension is a massive improvement over standard, I tend to drive this more now than my company car! B roads there is very little if any body roll, the car will under steer on cold tyres, and when pressing lift of over steer is now available on request! I find handling is best with the original alloys, I have 15 and 25mm spacers that I experimenting with on the rear axel. I have had 16x7 and 15x8 wheels on the car dose not feel as good to drive, can't say why just my opinion. Bit of a ramble but if you need anything else let me know
  17. You will need a throttle body, ecu etc, and as Scotty said, insurance will probably not be far of what you would pay for a Gti
  18. Manchester pal, It's been sat on a pallet in my store room for a Year,
  19. That's what I paid for it, has no tb or ecu. The plan was to go old school tuning, but I just have not got the time and it's not worth paying someone else to do it.
  20. Ashley manifold, £180,£200 ish for a 200 cell cat and then the rest for the exhaust, that's based on ss system mandrel bent using all new parts pal, again your not going to get a decent numbers from a one litre without any major work. I have a spare Gti engine that you can have for £100.00 125bhp straight away!
  21. Adam, Some of us older gents struggle with the text type Posts, I would recommend against any type of performance modifications as it will be wasted money, save the money and put it towards a sport or a Gti in a years time. A decent induction kit will be at least £150, full exhaust with a manifold minimum £800 that's almost a grand, Gti's that need a little love are around £1800.
  22. I have 280mm brembo max vented disks, coupled with ds2500 pads, braided lines and decent fluid, over-specked for the road really, no fade at all. Had a look at various different set ups, tarrox etc For the money if its just road use, gsf car parts stock the brembo disks and a few different oem type pads should cost £120 all in in parts. I got a little carried away and spent around £500 buts that was for front, rear and replacing all the hard pipes.
  23. I get between 170 and 215 per tank on momentum or v power, all depends on if its motorway or around town
  24. Hi pal, fitted on a treat with 4 mm of clearance spacers and offset bring them flush with the arch with approximate 40mm of reduction in ride hight. Just need the sun to shine to take some pictures
