  1. That looks very nice. Congrats on the buy and good idea leaving the Bathursts on
  2. Those were the old days
  3. Do contract. Go to the ADAC office to buy insurance. Go to the traffic office to get the car registered to your name and your temporary car numberplates. Pay the (now) previous owner. You're on your way. Get the seller to help you. PS. No need to forget about modifying cars in Switzerland. As long as all the parts installed are approved and legal, it's actually a piece of cake. Spain is a bit of a pain in the ass actually.
  4. Car's looking very nice, I bet it rides perfectly on the Bilstein's Also the silver one looks very well kept too, good job! There's not much more to do to your car anymore, is there?
  5. Car's looking good! Plus sensible lows are always a good thing Standard exhaust or going aftermarket?
  6. Update time. Winter months are usually quiet with not much happening to the Lupo. The most interesting thing that happened this winter is that the car passed it's MoT with flying colours. Gave it a good clean (mandatory over here) before and a couple of the officials commented on how good it looked. For a few months the car has been showing an intermittent EPC light on the dash. Turns out the brake pedal switch was toast even if the brake lights still worked. It was changed. Apart from that, if the car was standing for a few days it would judder around 2000rpm when accelerating which really spoilt the driving. Spark plugs were changed last year, so it couldn't be that, still ignition related. A couple of HT leads and two connectors in the coilpack had corrosion. All 4 HT leads were changed along the coilpack for new OEM items. ^ Thanks to Rich for whatsapp help and to Jon for providing the tools for the jobs So now it's all nice and pretty to be driven during the summer
  7. There are, but it's not the same car. The car sold as "Lupo" in Mexico is what in Europe was called "Fox", a completely different model. Lupos were only sold in Europe and some Asian markets like Japan or Taiwan.
  8. AFAIK that rubber trim is not unique to the GTi models (if I'm wrong, I hope someone corrects me) so you should be able to find it quite easily in a breaking yard over there in Germany
  9. Get the exhaust to sit properly while you're at it
  10. Just find a nice OEM interior to replace yours. But on a Fresco I'd leave the original interior in, they look nice! Maybe just a black headliner from a GTi
  11. Are there any GTi's out there without zip ties holding the exhaust in place?
  12. I've always liked this colour What other plans have you got for it?
  13. Exactly. That's why I said the only conversions I've seen are from an automatic gearbox (standard) to a manual one.
  14. I've only ever seen 3L's converted to manual, never full-automatic...
  15. Good job on keeping it on the road! We need pictures to see the progress.
  16. We are! I like to keep mine as original as possible to be honest Should I give it back and ask for the other part number instead or just try to fit this one?
  17. Dealer fitted. There was a dealer in Spain that would sell you SDi's with aircon so I guess a few others in Europe went that route. This one, for example, doesn't have the original A/C buttons: Original:
  18. Mine was high-ish mileage when I bought it. Had been serviced all along so it was sort of safe to buy Doesn't say it has aircon, and blue ones really benefit from a leather interior as there's less red things going on inside (not a huge fan of red/blue combination, but that's me!)
  19. Quite expensive to be honest, I went to VW here in Switzerland so you can imagine
  20. Surely the more you wait the more difficult (and expensive) it will become to get one of the few good ones that are left...
  21. I'll answer myself as the parts have come in already: Coil pack: 032 905 106 F HT leads: as above Brake light switch: 6Q0 945 511 Will try and fit all these sooner rather than later
