  1. You *might* have issues with plod as they are very protective over who is allowed flashing white lights.
  2. You can buy H4 LED lights but I'd rather put tea lights in there. The headlights are designed to work with H4 halogen lights and can't see why not just stick to that?
  3. Mine does this when the cooling fan comes on as it is unbalanced. One of the blade weights is off. In multistories or whenever it gets hot the whole car shakes. Probably not your problem, but maybe helpful to anyone else who uses search.

  5. Suicide is one of the great social taboos. People don't/can't/won't talk about it. 20 years ago my granny cut her wrists and climbed in a hot bath. 16 years ago my sister took 180 paracetamol and half a bottle of vodka. They both survived. 2 years ago my Dad hanged himself. He didn't. Thoughts with you, his family and everyone else his life touched.
  6. I'd paint the white bit black, lol
  7. de-tango the front indicators, a nice cheap mod that looks good.
  8. I think the Up!/Mii/Citigo are all quite nice looking wee motors. Hopefully there'll be a GTi/FR/VRS version at some point
  9. LaminX claim only 5% drop in light output, I assume from what everyone is saying here that aint the case?
  10. They are Golf wheels aren't they? Probably still the Golf sized tyres. Sounds like it is getting there. Wipers and light alignment should be cheap compared to all the other work you've had done! I used to have a link saved for how to align headlights. Using coloured tape, a wall and a measuring tape. Mind for the MOT the alignment is supposed to be checked with two people in the car so it's best to line it up with a passenger too. The garage my Mrs uses charges £2o for headlight alignment!
  11. If it was as aerodynamic as a brick I'd hazard a guess at a Buick GNX as its standard wheels were similar.
  12. Standard tyre sizes are 195/45 R15, 185/55 R14 and 175/65 R13 as far as I know.
  13. Or have I misunderstood and they are basically offering to fault read the car for £48 once their update is done?
  14. They said they'd just updated their software and there was an update for the Lupo on it. Surely VW wouldn't be releasing stuff this late into the life of the car, or it is possible my car has missed a past update. Anyway of checking for the layman? I've got an OBDII lead and a cheap ass ebay VagCom lead. Thinking along the lines of how I can look at the firmware version of electronic goods I have, would the Lupo ECU software have revision numbers?
  15. Is it Underwoods? Could do with a nosey. Don't really know any of the scrappys round here, though I went to Allparts Autosalvage once and had a less than useful trip.
  16. And that's why the forum gods created PMs...
  17. You can get done with "furious cycling". Look it up I used to get up to about 35 on my mountain bike coming down from Dunblane to Bridge of Alan. In the 30 if you don't slow down you end up undertaking the cars in the bike lane. On a road bike it would be a doddle to get nearer 40.
  18. There are loads of them here ;-) Nice black one decked on red deep dish multispokes with silver lip. Yellow one with vertex rear spoiler. My mate I bought my Lupo from has had 2 green Arosas too, one he describes as baby sick green, the other fluorescent. There's also a kermit frog green Lupo I see kicking about. A tidy black Arosa sport round the corner from me too.
  19. Yeah, sorry, standard cd unit. I've had the aerial booster on that pin for two weeks and no flat. It does indeed seem to be a switched live and there is another pin marked UB (safe voltage?) which must provide the power for ejecting.
  20. I got caught speeding once (in my Skoda Felicia of all things) and don't see why everyone tries to get out of it. I was speeding, I took my punishment and learned my lesson.
  21. Had the car serviced and MOTd today at my local VW specialist. In with my "advisories" (garage ones, not MOT ones) they said there is a software update for the car on VAS5051b and it'll be £48 if I want it done. Is it likely to be worth it? Does anyone know what update is for?
  22. The WD40 washes the existing lube out. That's how I cleaned out all the dry, crusty gunk from mine.
  23. Tried to look on Streetview, lol. I see a Hi-Q/Mconnechies, and a Clyde fasteners and loads of other units with no signs. Oh well.
