Thought it was about time i started a build thread kind of thing.

i bought my 1.4S about 2 months ago, i got it through the garage my dad works at so i'd say i got quite the bargain. i paid £850 for it.

its pretty much standard, electric windows etc. and also with an after market electric sunroof that got fitted about 8 years ago. (i have checked and it definitely isnt leaking wink.gif ) Its by no means perfect, there are lots of sratches down the bonnet, and across the roof that look like from when a previous owner has sat on it with their jeans on or something. But im hoping to sort this out as and when i can.

here is the car how i bought it

since then ive bought so TA technix coilovers, dewipered the rear window, and today i too the bumpstrips off too (which has left me with a blister on each thumb!) so progress is slow but steady

ive also bought a new headunit, door comps, and a built my own sub enclosure for the boot.

its not the neatest thing in the world, but it will do for now smile.gif

next thing on my list is to smoke my headlamps, and maybe some pressed plates ? we'll see.

a few days after taking these, ive decided by boot set up looks crap, and i bought some new wood tonight to re fit the sub neater in a new custom enclosure.

heres where i am so far.sorry about the pic quality!

i think im going to put a hatch in the opposite size to the sub, so it looks neat from outside, but i still have that extra bit of space if i want it. :)

my acoustic carpets in the post! :) and im not too worried about protecting it anyway, i cant imagine ever putting anything in my boot, it just lives in the passenger foot well or back bench haha

Mmm I know that situation mate! If I was you I'd just keep cleaning and save for wheels really. Like if you don't want to send hundred and hundreds on wheels you could get some 15 inch steels and fit mk5 gold wheel trims :)

Keep it up!

went to weston today, and hit 100k! i had planned to take a photo of both 99999 and 100000, but missed both and only managed to get 100003 in a photo, after having a short rage on the motorway because i missed them both.

car was good as gold anyway :)

You should be able to pick up some nice OEM wheels for a cheapish price.

BBS RJ or RAs or may P Slots, teardrops or even bottle tops are pretty cheap. Give them a home refurb and you'll improve your looks with not much outlay.

Funnily enough thats exactly what im looking for silver! haha. However, i got a new job yesterday, so I might be able to stretch my budget a bit more. We'll see.

What do you think of the idea of some BBS RA's in white? Probably 15". I can get them powder coated for free, just not sure on how it'll look.

IIRC they look sweet as in white :)

I personally prefer RJs to RAs, but yes, a nice clean white or off white finish would be cool.

Have you thought about a champagne colour? The would sit nice against the black and not be so harsh as white.

With RJs though you would need to spray the centres to match as they are plastic.

actually, looking now, i think i prefer RJ's too, i'll have to keep an eye out and see whats around.

and yeah silver, i have thought about a kind of beige/light brown kind of champagne colour, would definitely be more original too!
