  1. BBS RS testfit - @kentgti by Ross Mullins, on Flickr we'll get there, 9.5 & 10s.. needs some camber adjustments etc, didn't air fully out due to arches but should sit arch\lip. Also rebuilt most of the rear install, no photos yet. I never get on here anymore, dunno if this is me signing off but for anyone interested in following my build/whatever, my instagram is @kentgti x
  2. finally decided to get these on after they'd sat in the garage for a few years, took more work than I thought.. but should be good. 16" BBS RS's, been plugged & redrilled to 4x100, then had clearance issues.. had them milled down at a local machining place, lots and lots of trial & error but all good now + had a general tidy up. radinox dishes all round, stainless gold bolts + gold valves.. just to decide on the finish now. Going pretty wide, for a Lupo anyway, so fingers crossed all is good on test fit. RS, machined down to clear. by Ross Mullins, on Flickr RS's. by Ross Mullins, on Flickr
  3. Haha sweet, didn't even know I'd been nominated for anything.. cheers to whoever put my name forward. Can I join in the title change, why not. Thanks
  4. The controls don't work no, the airbag is however wired up properly rather than using a resistor so yeah, that can be done. The 6R boot I picked up from a scrapyard, and someone I know at a local bodyshop welded it in & painted it up. I don't update this enough, just popped on after someone telling me I was 2015 Interior of the year, which is pretty cool.. considering I had no idea people suggested me - so thankyou, it actually means a lot. On that topic, a couple of months ago the install was slightly switched up again. I got a bit tired of the tank being bare, so had the tank trimmed in alcantara to fit in with the rest of the build, with a stripe of the colour in the amp rack/door cards to split it up a little.. had some hardlines added just to spice things up. Rear t-piece trimmed, and mainly the entire floor was rebuilt to extend the area around the amp rack after I'd upgraded to the Mosconi Amps from the Rainbow iPaul's I had a couple of years back. In doing this we added a strip of edge lighting, changed all the LED strips from red to white & retrimmed. It was a lot of work for what essentially looks the same as before, but I really wanted a strip to light up that box. I've upgraded to the new Airlift 3P management at the same time, not for any reason.. just that it as new & looked a bit more modern, the iPhone Bluetooth app is pretty nice too, essentially the same as the Accuair E-Level bluetooth app, but nice to have, it has a few nice features. I think I was one of the first to mount it horizontally, I was adamant I wanted it in the same location as V2, it's built into the lid of the ashtray which is then trimmed in alcantara. The ashtray slides back into the dash recess with the management controller fitted flush. Mosconi Bluetooth streaming has also been added, no idea why this took me so long to do. Can now jump in with just my phone if I'm in a hurry & stream from there, there's no loss of audio quality either, not that I've noticed. Still using lossless audio files. 5. Selling my Airlift V2 Management, comes with all wiring & harnesses. Fully working & no leaks from manifold, has only covered about 5,000 miles & is about 12 months old, was a warranty replacement due to a manifold leak with the previous unit. Also have a Viair 380C compressor it could come with if required. Only thing to note is the power cable is short due to the GTI battery being in the boot, if it's for a GTI then fine, if not it'll need extending or a new cable, only a small job just thought I'd note. £550. Any questions, drop me a message - happy to courier (will send insured/tracked), or collection from Worcester. DSC07284 by Ross Mullins, on Flickr DSC07271 by Ross Mullins, on Flickr
  6. Right, ordered a new seal from VW due to a split in mine, however does anyone know of any differences fitting wise or part number wise between GTI/Non-GTI? Or could anyone help me out with a photo of how it's seated please, the issue is on the join from the bumper to tailgate area, mine is seated as I thought correctly but there's 2 ridges, and it's tucked under the first one. Cheers.
  7. Cheers bud, just need to sort engine bay out really to get that upto standard.. everything else I'm happy with, not to everyone's taste inside but I love it. And yeah, well I guess so - sounds like a username he'd use anyway. He's one of my best mates, we're both from Worcester.
  8. Cheers everyone Engine bay wise... yeah I should really. I've done a few things with it - I ditched the BMC induction hosing off, was a right mess but did the job. Replaced it all with ASH black silicone hosing, ran it the same route and into the front arch as standard. I still haven't got the carbon engine cover on or measured up, needs a bit of cutting. I've also added a Porsche 911 oil cap & coolant cap. It's tidy, but by no means is it really show standard, but I'm still using the car daily. Thought I'd update with a couple of recents from ED38 and just round about, not really done many shows this year.. not in my car anyways. audio. by Ross Mullins, on Flickr audio. by Ross Mullins, on Flickr audio. by Ross Mullins, on Flickr Just before we left for home after ED38. by Ross Mullins, on Flickr edition. by Ross Mullins, on Flickr Fill up. by Ross Mullins, on Flickr Fill up. by Ross Mullins, on Flickr
  9. I'm selling my set of BBS RM's, they're built to 15x7.5 & 15x8s with Radinox Stainless Dishes & stainless bolts. They've been finished in a custom red dye over a 4 stage paint process, was a big cost but I don't know of anyone else with a similar finish & the colour in the sunshine is the one.. they change colour in different lights. The faces & plastic hex nuts are painted with black/silver BBS genuine centre badges. The dishes have no defects whatsoever, no kerbing/stone chips or scratches, they're literally ran as summer wheels and I don't cover many miles as it isn't really a daily car. They have 185/45/15 Nankangs on, plenty of tread left although slight camber wear on the rear 2 to be completely honest. And just to add, there's no air leaks at all, not even slight. I'm after £1100, collected from Worcester. I'm in no rush to sell and the wheels are still currently on the car, anyone serious drop me a msg. bbz by Ross Mullins, on Flickr BBS Paint by Ross Mullins, on Flickr IMG_0650 by Ross Mullins, on Flickr UD by Ross Mullins, on Flickr Before Shelsey. by Ross Mullins, on Flickr UD by Ross Mullins, on Flickr Loop by Ross Mullins, on Flickr Loop by Ross Mullins, on Flickr
  10. Untitled by Ross Mullins, on Flickr cheers for the nice comments..... it's been a while (i'm awful at build threads mainly post on Instagram (@KentGTI) if anyone's interested... took the car back down to studioincar for a month just after jan for some more upgrades, basically one of my Rainbow iPauls decided to die on me with it going into protect mode over certain volumes.. bought a replacement from Germany as that was the only place who had any stock as the amp was discontinued years & years ago... however it turned out to be problem after problem.. like seriously, so many problems. Ended up taking the plunge and upgrading to Mosconi amps, which are a lot more powerful than the Rainbow ones, so now running 3 x Mosconi Gladen AS 100.2s & 1 x 200.2.. pretty tight squeeze though. At the same time we added another set of mid-bass as wanted more of a punch & for it to be louder than previously, which obviously meant the lower door cards being completely rebuilt, with lighting built in & trimmed to match the rear this time. Also added a XS Power Audio battery, trimmed the iPad dash surround & t-piece in alcantara, dash binnacle trimmed, heater surrounds trimmed, had some rear side builds to cover where seatbelt/plastics were trimmed, slam panel plastic trimmed & a full system tune. So now the whole of the rear is trimmed in alcantara & it's silly loud, like seriously. Untitled by Ross Mullins, on Flickr /// by Ross Mullins, on Flickr /// by Ross Mullins, on Flickr I sorted the BBS out after having a dish crack on me after Edition last year, so they're back on for now.. although currently planning on building the RS's this year, now have the right sized barrels I need just need to decide on colour and order dishes. bbz by Ross Mullins, on Flickr Struggling what else to write now, met up with Alex Carroll who's local to us for some photos & I'll post some from UD where I was lucky to make it inside on Players/Airlift stand (cheers). 11. I did the flip key programming myself before & for some strange reason it didn't stay programmed for longer then a couple of months... I'll find someone with vagcom, although as far as I was aware you still had to put the uncoded key into the drivers lock barrel? I'll do some more digging, cheers man!
  12. Been relying on one key (Lupo one) since I did the mk4 flip key on the spare, it stopped working a few months after and kept losing its programming & sat in the draw since. Fast forward 3 years, I now have no locks anywhere on the car & just had my key not want to unlock.. battery is fine & now works again 10 minutes later. To cut a long story short, is it possible to programme a key as will sort the second as a backup without having a lock barrel.. cheers
  13. I wouldn't see over the wheel if I was any lower down hahah, ill try & get some photos of the frames when I get a chance. Mega happy with them though, just scared to sit in them a little ha.
  14. I think they sit low enough for me as they sit lower than my standard gti seats. I've had frames fabricated up for them with wheels welded on for in the runner which was what I meant. They sit on the floor pretty much, didn't explain myself too well lol.
  15. Thankyou!! Little update, seats are finally in. Sat pretty low and had some custom frames made so they're all working on the runners as they should, plus they sit as low as they can that way. Really happy, kinda feel they pull the interior together. //// by Ross Mullins, on Flickr
  16. It's a bit cheeky I know, but.. I've entered a competition to win a voucher for some car cleaning products & the person with the most votes at the end of the month is the winner.. I'm currently struggling a little as the person behind me has just jumped right up & votes won't be updated til after NY due to having to be approved. I would REALLY REALLY appreciate if anyone could help me out, it only takes 2 seconds & you can leave the comment section blank but you do have to use a valid email address as you have to verify the vote in an e-mail they send, although you don't have to subscribe to the mailing list (there's a little tick box). http://www.theultimatefinish.co.uk/Competition/Entry.aspx?EntryId=2640 - There's my link, I'd really appreciate any votes!! Cheers guys & sorry for being a bit cheeky.. desperate times & all.
  17. cheers for the nice comments you lot, I'm awful at checking back here to be honest! got a pair of Recaro CS's retrimmed, few have prob already seen them. Can't wait to get them in & finish the interior off, looking to have a fair few other bits and bobs trimmed up to match the audio/seats.. I'll try update a bit more over the winter and make a few more shows next year. Recaro CS's by Ross Mullins, on Flickr and another just as we left Edition38, one of the only shows I made in my car lol.. ED38 by Ross Mullins, on Flickr
  18. Just a quick one, does anyone know the differences between the undertray found on normal lupos to that of the GTI? I know they have differing part numbers but unsure of actual differences. Any help appreciated!
  19. Cheers man, I miss yours too haha.. was always different. Thanks bud & for seats.. no idea what to do still. I want most of the interior redoing with a few ideas I have, mainly trimming dash & all of the car plastics in alcantara to tie everything in but I'm completely lost for what seats to get. I keep changing my mind after being set on something.. I'm going to try and get it all done over winter. However, the car's sat pretty much how I've wanted it now.. few photos from recent. 20. Cheers both, Again just putting a few photos up, been awful this year for shows/meets.. think I've made 1 in my car, awful. 21. Had a look around it, reg C3 OPS. Silver GTI, in bits.. had sat a while as windows covered in dirt/dust, boxed in by broken cars. However, lifted the bonnet as had no bumpers etc, had a 1.8t in although missing parts. Anyone's? Was Coventry way, lots of banger racing cars around at the back of a unit with RS BODIES spray painted above.
  22. Cheers both, can't decide on seats so it'll probably be a while till I get anything else in. Anyway, the boot handle is all wired in now & working as it should.. pretty happy with it as was thinking it would have to be operated by a button to the popper at first. And also, the wheel's in & wired in properly to the airbag etc. It feels so much different to the Lupo one & love the flat bottom grip on the motorway haha, so comfy. OH, and I've just had a stubby electric/heated drivers side mirror which took ages to find painted up and that's on too now.. no pictures of it but it looks the same as before just matches as always bugged me that it didn't.... 23. Cheers mate, I was all for Mk6 tartans.. especially being a fraction of the price of a pair of CS's so could have had them retrimmed. My only thought is, they look like they need rear seats if that makes sense? Like they need backs or something, maybe I'm just being fussy but not sure they'd look right. I look around and find myself going back to CS's...... but again, they've been done to death. I seem to find myself choosing on the basis of what other people haven't done rather than what I actually seem to want...
  24. Cheers guys, it still needs to just get that little bit lower. I think I'm going to try a different tyre size to get the drivers rear to match passenger side as it pokes a little more so sits on the tyre due to the beam. I've still got the set of 16" BBS RS barrel & faces sat in the garage so need to decide whether to work sizes out for them or shift them on. Car's going back to the bodyshop next week, due to taking the last lock barrel out of the boot as I'd de-locked the door handles.. we've decided to put the drivers door lock back in but keep with the smoothed cap by cutting the actual barrel itself down by half an inch & fitting the cap back over. I also managed to find a heated/electric drivers side stubby mirror with brand new glass from a left hand drive GTI which was pretty lucky, so that's being painted up & a few more touch ups here and there. Few recents: /\/\/\/ by Ross Mullins, on Flickr /\/\/\/ by Ross Mullins, on Flickr @ SlamMedia meet. by Ross Mullins, on Flickr Oh and bought this off Ben. Wheel by Ross Mullins, on Flickr Decided I'm going to properly sort the interior next.. just can't decide on seats. Weighing up between Recaro Pole Positions, Recaro CS's or Mk6 Golf Tartan Recaro's but will be re-trimmed. I was set on CS's last year, but worried they're a little too high for the Lupo and there's a few people with them now.. decisions.
  25. It does need pulling, even if the clips snap they're only a few quid. Just yank it.
