marcusgrant
I dont think Classics are that over done.. and even if they are, if pulled of right they look sweet! I would happily have a car on classics, never on turbos or cups though.
nfbr
Stretching tyres is illegal, it has noting to do with being outside of manufacturers spec tbh.Like I said. When you see a VOSA van or a traffic officer next ask them about it, if they're clued up then they'll tell you what I've told you.It is only illegal to fit tyre to a rim which is outside of the Manufacturers Approved specifications. Tyre manufacturers spend Millions of Pounds/Dollars on Research and Development including fitting every single size/pattern of tyre to a vast array of wheel widths, both steel and alloy.Example 1: Toyo Proxes T1-S, 195/45 15. Rated for anything between 5.5" wide rims and 8" wide rims.I had them fitted to an 8x15" Keskin KT5 Wheel. Perfectly legal. However if I had decided to fit them to a 9" wide wheel, Then I would have been using tyres which are not type approved for road use with that particular size wheel.Example 2: Falken FK452, 215/40 18. Rated for anything between 6.5" wide rims and 8.5 wide rims.I have them fitted to a 8.5x18" BBS CH Wheel. Perfectly legal. However If I bought a 10" Wide set of rears and used the same tyres. I would be using tyres which are not type approved for road use with that particular size wheel. If the manufacturer has done the research and given the OK to go for a specific tyre upto a certain size width, then there are NO legal implications to fitting that certain combination together providing the rim is within the minimum and maximum type approved width. nfbr
They scrubbed a little bit. The main issue was the terrible thin lacquer on the diamond cut lips. They corroded over winter whilst they were kept indoors...
