alice Posted October 29, 2008 Report Share Posted October 29, 2008 Like tomflyer said .... its was all pre-recorded and the swear words edited out, they even asked Andrew Sachs whether he wanted them to take the voicemail messages off the recording and he said yes, but the editors obviously didnt comply.I agree that if someone said that to my dad/grandad they would flip and they did cross the line .... but still the song did make me chuckle and I think that Russel Brand is generally like that, much like Jonathon Ross, so I still feel it was the editors fault for letting it be broadcast . He was quite funny at first, but now I find him mostly grating.Ross should really know better, even though I enjoy his TV and Radio shows.It's not like they would be skint if they lost their jobs is it. If anything it'll do Brand good and boost his ratings away from the grumpy moany group.Andrew Sachs is a bit of a hypocrite in my eyes. Back in the Faulty Towers and his bid for music fame, he was probably offensive to the entire Spanish nation. Did anyone complain about him? Nope!And as for his grandaughter: had anyone heard of her before this? She dances in a Burlesque troop with a name that can't be repeated on mainstream TV/radio as it's too rude (I don't even know the name, but I heard this said on the news the other night). The pictures of her, which I assume have been supplied by her agent, shown by TV and press to prove her innocence show her wearing a pink bra. How odd they couldn't find one of her fully clothed!I think the compaints started by Mr Sachs are probably a rue to get her, the offended party noticed and to boost her celebrity status.I mean to say, look at Abby "I made a home porn movie, let the tape escape and now I'm famous" Titmus.Forget them. they wouldn't give you the time of day!Hear, hear. Unheard Posted October 29, 2008 Report Share Posted October 29, 2008 lets be honest here, your average radio 2 listener is my dad..... old, and not really "down wid da kids," and probably doesn't appreciate russell brands humour anyway. i really don't know why russell brand is on radio 2 anyway, it's hardly a hip and happening station, i just wouldn't have thought their target audience would appreciate his humour.i thought it was hilarious, but i have a sick sense of humour!Radio 2 has a much lower average age audience now. I personally think it was very bad taste and i didn't really find it that funny. It would be differant if it was a friend but they didn't really know him and to put a messages like that on some ones answering phone is a bit low. It was pre recorded though so i think the producers should have steped in and made sure they didnt go over the top. Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross are like hyper kids anyway.
