Max69vk
Didn't this kick off on E38 recently because everyone had heard different stories about this car style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

micky c
I know nothing... Apart from I love'd that Lupo, but probably mostly for the 1.8vT conversion.. But like others have said, I'd change a couple of things, all down to personal taste style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shades:" border="0" alt="shades.gif" /> Has anybody on here done the 1.8vT conversion? PeteDawson
im seriously considering keeping my sport for a while and 1.8T'ing it, depends on cost of shoe horning it in though, doesnt seem like there is anything readily available for the conversion. I remember seeing the venom one in the magazine's some years back and i wanted it then!
heartagram
I thought about it for a while but decided its just to much power for a little car like a Lupo. I know some people will argue you can never have to much horsepower but I think there is a limit to what is useable.
vworks41
Yeah i agree about the whole to much power thing and thats why the venom machine didn't last very long.I think 200bhp is about the max for every day road use in a loop. penry
Yeah it all kicked off on E38 where everyone was giving their own version of events. The thing that's for definite is that it was written off. It would be a waste not to rebuild it in my opinion, even if it was re-shelled it would be worth it.And i agree, i think that 200bhp would be the best compromise when it comes to power / traction. The standard GTi is far from slow as it is!
paul.ekc
It did 342 BHP on the rollers BTW!! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shades:" border="0" alt="shades.gif" /> My mate used to own it a few years back!! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":coffee:" border="0" alt="coffee.gif" />
PeteDawson
must have been IHI'd or similar then to be running that power

willcrook
What you getting done at Awesome today Gti-T?330bhp in fwd is stupid, I'd preffer 125 and the traction to lay it down. The Venom Lupo was a show car and people are impressed by big power! The 1.8t conversion adds wayyy too much weight to the front on top of too much power for the front wheels to handle.Wasted money imo.! It's quite a light motor really.Read somewhere that vw seriously thought about putting it in the lupo GTi at one point, but decided against it because it would have been much quicker and better than the mk4 Gti. Max69vk
Correct me if Im wrong here but Venom didn't 'actually' build it, wasn't it all outsourced to other companies?
