PaulV
Hi, just purchased a Lupo GTI and I can only find Toyo TR1s in 205/45 R15! Upping to 50 or 55 profile gives many more brands and price options and would be a bit more comfortable on the shitty road surfaces? Does anyone have experience or recommendations running on 205/50 or 205/55 profiles on the stock rims? Thanks
Mattymdm
I run 195/45 uniroyal rainsports on my GTi Id recommend anything over Toyos. Terrible tyre my gti had on when i bought it. Think 195/50 scrub on full lock
lupo1.0se
I run 195/45/r15 78 V Falkens. On protyre they have a offer if you buy 2 you get £10 off (4 £20)

lupogtiboy
I've been running 195/45 15s on mine for years, pretty much since the first time I needed to change tyres, and never had any issues. Of all the brands I've used, I've been most happy with Uniroyal's, they offer excellent grip in the dry and more importantly, the wet, and seem to last well too. I'm currently on a set of Falkens, and whilst not as good as the Uniroyal's, they are a good alternative. I found that 50 profile tyres always rub on full lock, whether at standard height or lowered, as they are just too big for the arch.
scottee88
I use Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 on mine. 195/45 R15. I have also had issues in the past with rubbing on the higher profile tyres. Still get some wear on these too but not so bad.

After 6 months of 'settling in' they seemed pretty good but fronts were done in no time. Mine is lowered sensibly and I've never had any issues with fit of 195/45s
