  1. TRWs distributor are pretty helpful if you contact them, it's ZF something they have an online contact form.
  2. I had 4 new toyos at the same time & my gti was terrifying under hard braking for a good few thousand miles. After 6 months of 'settling in' they seemed pretty good but fronts were done in no time. Mine is lowered sensibly and I've never had any issues with fit of 195/45s
  3. You might be able to find red TRW rear calipers but they are not cheap and i had a long wait for them. I got a pair last year.... to replace the silver ones previously installed by a garage TRW BHQ136E TRW BHQ137E
  4. Excellent, thank you. Knowing the name of what you want always helps. I'm not sure I could have described it very easily without using the words knob and thingummy a few times. I guess the lock pin that goes through the rosette also has a 'technical term'? Kind of on the same subject, does anyone have any tips on adhesive for sticking the plastic brackets back onto the door cards? A few of mine have fallen off or remained attached to the clips. They've left no damage on the card or any trace of what they were stuck with.
  5. My lock knob keeps disappearing into the door, I thought after 10 years of ownership I should probably fix it. I need to get one of these that is not broken: Does anyone know if it has a part number? Or have one kicking around somewhere that they don't need?
  6. Is the lower arm the same on the 6n2? And they maybe make up any other difference in all 3 with the ball joint?
  7. Oh look, I'm talking to myself on the other ball joint thread. See my answer on that one for more info. Got mine on Ebay but messaged first to make sure I was getting exactly what was listed.
  8. I'm pretty sure I ordered 'RTS' ball joints for my GTI 5 years ago. Part numbers 93-90973-156 and 93-90973-256 They were the correct length. Autodoc are no good for this because you will order RTS but they have a habit of just swapping out for a different brand with the same part number. These joints are often incorrectly listed and its basically a lottery as to whether you end up with GTI or non GTI version. Good luck.
  9. GTI has a wider track, so ball joints are longer. Took me ages to find ones that were definitely GTI when I needed them. There were plenty listed as being for all variants. Most people selling online have no idea there are 2 variants and were clueless when asked.
  10. My lupo GTI has been very good to me but I recently had a N/S front ABS fault, which came up as faulty sensor. Sensor was replaced, code cleared and all apparently working fine. Today I took it in for MOT then got a call from garage saying that, when front wheel is on rolling road, the N/S front brake is engaging slowly until locked and ABS can be heard. Even with feet flat on the floor! Other observations noted were: - doesn't happen on open road, when all 4 wheels are turning - doesn't happen on rolling road if ignition is off - N/S pads worn at about twice rate of O/S - no fault codes - not had any noticeable braking difference, pulling to one side under braking etc - no random ABS engagement in day to day use - ABS has been functioning as it should on the road before and and after ABS sensor fault - I have occasionally smelt hot brakes but figured it was just my driving... guess it could have been the the N/S front though Figured it could be the new sensor was faulty but that should throw up a code. Currently thinking maybe ABS module but no idea really. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
  11. You may be able to source spare parts from KW automotive in Rochester. They are very helpful. Not sure if you can get individual smaller parts but I got a single AP damper through them. They are listed as the contact point for KW too.
  12. There's a tdi being broken up on ebay. Worth trying some of the lupo / arosa Facebook groups for a spare ecu too
  13. Sounds like it's gone to a good home, and I'm sure you'll get your money's worth out of it.
  14. There was a 38k tdi on ebay. Bought for peanuts and sold for a tidy sum.
  15. Pm'd you but also just remembered this. They're available just no shipping to US. Like someone else said, probably best find someone to import for you. I used to get honda parts from Japan via someone who specialised in buying and shipping whatever was needed, would even bid on auction sites for you.
