  1. i get a knocking noise from mine, mechanic said its a little play in the wishbone but nothing to worry about. I doubt this will help, but worth a try! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
  2. keep goin back & ranting at them mate, the C***'s will get the idea in the end! I had a problem with my sport...got about a mile down the road from the garage & the pedal box was already on its way out (I also bought a warranty and was told the car was fine), then about 4 hours later i went to pick my girlfriend up from work, i got there & when i went to start my car, the F**k** ignition switch went. So by loveley powers of persuasion, (basically i just kept hassling them) they fixed the ignition switch & the pedal box! I feel for you though man, Gearbox is more of a problem!
  3. Does anyone know where I can get some good brake discs for my lupo sport? Maybe cheaper than what ive found...seen some black diamond grooved discs for about £100...any ideas? Replies much appreciated! Cheers, Keith style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
  4. make sure the ground wire, (usually a browny colour) is the same gauge cable as the power cable. Also when connecting it to your chassis be sure to connect it cleanly to the metal of the car, so you may have to file away some paint! Hope this helps? style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shades:" border="0" alt="shades.gif" />

  10. I know a guy whos dad is a VW specialist. My mate took his golf to the proper vw dealer to get some stuff done and when he was driving back he noticed the Airbag light was permanently on.... So instead of taking it back he took it to his Dad who said that VW pull a crafty one so that you have to take it back & get the car done. They put a code on that only they can unlock...so hes gonna take it back & give them some noise, and hopefully get it sorted. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> Dont know if this helps at all...but it could be that!
  11. venom motorsport do a mesh grille, but they give you a plate to put in place of the half circle gap in the bonnet...not sure if this is what you want but thought id try and help!

  16. Running a diesel dry will do no good to the car at all...they may need to go to a mechanic before being driven again...so i dont advise it!

  19. Definately get green stuff pads mate, otherwise your wheels will be covered in carbon all the time! Black diamond drilled are quite good, all depends on how much you wanna pay really! Good luck!
  20. Lucky lucky boy!!!! Wish I could get somethin like that....my mates just had a g60 conversion on his mk2 golf....and added a ported supercharger + charge cooler....wish I could have me a car like that!
  21. Why not a Golf GTI? The 1.8 turbo'd version?
  22. Have a look on www.alloywheels.com mate, they have a range of wheels & tyres. Use the search on the right side for tyres. Hope this helps! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
  23. Are your tire treads the same? If you have a new tire on one side & an almost dead one on the other side this can sometimes affect steering.
  24. Im 20 & wrote my fiesta off last year...I was insured with barclays for 750 tpft but when my insurance was up for renewal they wanted £180 a month for a crappy fiesta! I then decided on a new motor anyway & went and got myself a Lupo sport, which isnt quite a GTi, but its still pretty quick & good fun to drive! I looked around for insurance & most companies wanted to charge around £1600 fully comp. I now pay £1300 with elephant (with no no claims) I found that elephant, admiral & bell will gie you the best quotes, & if you buy online you can state all your mods which makes only a small difference. The above 3 insurance companies are all part of the same group, but they will still compete with each other for a better quote! As for points on your license it depends what they are for, if they are sp30's (speeding in a 30mph zone) they normally take that quite easily. A friend of mine has a 1 year old Seat Ibiza 1.8 Cupra which puts out 180bhp....his insurance fully comp is about £2k & hes only 21 with 3 points on his license. Good Luck Mate! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shades:" border="0" alt="shades.gif" />
