  1. Just tried the wiki tab at the top, which now dumps out. Start at cl main landing page then select it... dunno what happened to it? Anyone?
  2. Not entirely sure, but I think a few Plymouth models share some older vdub and renault parts if you're looking at a compressor swap If it is just the bearing, you may be able to get a bearing puller on the end once the friction plate is off. Usually a hex key bolt holding it onto a splined shaft. If you then use a 3 way hub puller, with the central bit resting on a socket (to avoid the splined shaft), just inside the siezed inner race, you might get lucky and be able to slide it off the compressor... and without needing to degas it. If you do manage to remove the pulley with the bearing inside it, it's just a case of pressing out the ball bearing and sticking in a new one for perhaps only a couple of bucks. Fiddly work, but you might get lucky! in the mean time, you could just bung on a shorter belt and simply bypass the compressor (but not 100% as i'm not sure what route the belt takes ariund the engine....).
  3. Yeah do as @Rich suggests. Bosch car parts are made to a price... i prefer hella or other brand relays. They make decent dishwashers though . Try the relay before the ig sw.
  4. Show us a pic of that pulley...

I like Ajusa HGs... great for when you up the compression ratio.
  6. yeah could be. but there's also an ignition relay near the fuse box below the steering that can cause identical symptoms/problems too. Not easy to access, but an easy fix if it is that. unplug it and plug in a replacement if it is that. unlikely to be the crank sensor, as the computer (ECU) would throw a fault light. so most likely ignition or power related. checked battery terminal? but unlikely. so my guess is ig switch or relay. you don't have a fault/check engine light on the dash (I'm guessing)?
  7. Just thought, vdub ignition switches are not the best. Like @Rich mentioned, could've cut out, but then she'd have to have cranked it to get it going again (unless she bump started it)...
  8. Yeah, lupos come with undertrays to protect the pulleys/belts as they're so close to wheel. My guess is same as your's... belt slip caused by water spray. Unusual, especially if it's as tight as you say it is.
  9. How long have you had your SDI? If it's part of the family, you can't just get rid of it!
  10. I can post you a small pack of interesting colour enamelling powder. My guess is you only need half a teaspoon of the stuff? Do you use an enamelling oven or a microwave mini kiln thing?
  11. @Andrew1971 what upholstery style/colour do you have in your black SDI? Mine's E spec, so has a striped golfball pattern... Also a black SDI.
  12. who else in the club lives down Salisbury area? anyone?
  13. Just looked at that one on ebay mentioned above. Shame about the wear on the driver's seat. But one of my SDIs was much worse than that (scuffing from girls' metal studded waist belts!), so I sourced a passenger seat cloth from Germany (which are usually like new). Now my interior is like new again... so worth doing.
  14. Yeah i know, but if the person who was in it reads this, they'll recognise their car. It's just a partial pic from my super hi-res dash cam, right at the edge of the frame, through a rainy windscreen..... about three mins later there was another i spotted on the M4 heading west in fresco green. Stickers all over with something like "despair" (can't remember) in giant letters across the back. Wearung a baseball cap on backwards (yeah right!), but didn't see me in my black Loop.
  15. Hadn't considered the Novichock.... best to wipe Salisbury off the face of the uk. Could use all the rubble to make a new boris island airport. but seriously, with all the items fixed up, the car is worth about £1500. german exhaust (Ernst) complete system £80 brakes disks and pads (also from germany) £25 pair of hoses £4 each Used shocks from ebay £5 each sorted. i get my parts form these guys: https://www.qp24.de/en-gb you could get the parts and then simply have a small local independent mechanic sort it for you. The work might be £100 cash if you're friendly....
  16. about £120 in new bits (+ about 4h labour) would fix everything mechanical (not the tyres) and give it another 5 years at least. you don't see many in white. looks nice! it's worth fixing. if only you were closer, I'd sort it for you. In history, SDIs are just about the cheapest cars on the road to run (tax/fuel/insurance). I have two... what the heck is a strut sliding gland. that's a new one to me....!
  17. was this you in a black SE or sport? We eyeballed each other with 'the all knowing nod of approval'... on the A4 me going west, you going east from heathrow. 15:20 today. black sport.mp4
  18. Now that's where i've seen that wheel look before.... been bugging me. Moon buggy. Cool.
  19. Definitely 3 for me. Any possibility on other colours? Greens, yellow? Also any option to leave the pin clasp off, but no biggie as i coukd grind it off.
  20. ....and lets not forget Mk4 golf fuel filters... yup, those clips can be a pain. I think gunge gets into the clip so it can't be pressed to release the catch.
  21. We're all still keen.... how many are you up to so far and how many do you need to make it worth while for you? The lupo is slowly achieving cult status and there'll be loads of demand for these nice little pins. And in Germany and Spain... post on the german forum: https://lupoclub.de/forum/
  22. You don't need to remove it... follow the hoses, in particular the one that goes into the inlet plenum that dumps fumes in to the engine. It'll probably go via a solenoid valve. That's the pipe you'll want to shut off.
  23. I'd like a purple member status thing...
  24. That is repairable. The roof line is still straight. Just pop everything out, use a jack on the B pillar and pull anything in the corner. New tailgate too. Two days work. Easy.
  25. It'll be easier to find now after that long trip. I find long lupo trips very tiring. I usually end up using one of the other cars for anything over 200 miles each way.
