    New rear lights

LOL - I do like a good randomly made up statistic! beside it's probably a higher percentage in oldham Al! even I drive down the middle of the road to avoid all beeping potholes in oldham! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" /> On topic again, don't forget it doesn't have to be those reflectors, you could just get some narrow reflective tape to meet mot regs.
  2. don't know of any companies, but some of my windows are pretty scratched (looks like the previous owner had a extra strong ice scraper). I have used Auto Glym glass polish a couple of times and that seems to mask scratches slightly for a while.
  3. matt finish, i tend to use those flash multisurface wipes to remove dust/grime and then a soft/medium brush on the door cards. on the slightly off topic mileage thing, my car is about to roll over 67,000 on a 52 plate... I'm doing about 1200 miles a month :-)
  4. that certainley a bit 'different' not sure either way on it at the moment. can't say i've seen a bike with NOS on it too, bet that chuggs along nicely
  5. looking good chris, really should make the effort to polish/wax mine soon. do you think the mudguards make any difference to the dirtyness really? I keep pondering a set for mine
  6. Looking very good. I miss my yellow arosa!!!! It was me that posted the link style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":coffee:" border="0" alt="coffee.gif" /> , I'm glad to see my trawling of autotrader has paid off! Hope you enjoy it
  7. Looks like it would have been a good kit in it's day, but would guess on it costing you a couple of hundred to get going.... if you fancy a go without breking the bank there are a few electric ones out there for not a lot that will give you the feel for it to see if it's worth spening more on a nitro/petrol model. this seems good value: clickity click Keith
  8. would certainly be different. I reckon you might have a problem though, ford are 4x108 fitment and lupo/arosa are 4x100, that's without the added problem of offset. good luck on your hunt anyway
  9. really like the back of it, very smooth, glad they've resisted the tempation to put a big daft bumper on it. front bumper looks like ibiza cupra r spare parts bin however. (not that that is a bad thing)
  10. This'll be me enjoying a pint or 5 of a certain local delicacy.... border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> and this'll be me working it off again. border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" />

    New baby VW

Looks like a cross between a mitsubisi colt and a smart car. although rear wheel drive sounds entertaining.
  12. After suffering the usual inactive gauge for a while I decided to get the parts and replace it myself rather than pay for someone else to do it.... here's what I did: Bought the following parts: part number 059 919 501 a retail £26.28 inc vat seal n903 168 02 retail £1.02 inc vat coolant g 012 a8 fm1 retail £6.87 inc vat Wait for engine to cool down, had a look under bonnet for location of sensor see photo's (it's the green bit!!). I removed the engine cover and foam surround for easy access. Bare in mind that this is after I have taken the connector off (this is black with four wires coming out of it) To remove the connector I used a small flat head precision screw driver in the gap marked with a rectangle below, this made taking it off much easier. The clip is handily placed facing towards the engine block for you inconvenience I then prepared for the "quickly pull the old one out and put the new one in" technique, by placing lots of cardboard on the garage floor and cloths in the engine bay to soak up any leakages. Then remove the clip from around the base of the sensor on the engine block by pulling it downwards. Prebuild the sensor/seal and have it handy... Pull out the old one and make sure the seal comes with it, then quickly line up the new sensor and wedge it back in.... this will be whilst coolant is coming out. I took about 15secs and lost approx 750ml coolant. Which I topped up when I'd finished the mopping up process. Anyway this is the bit that caused the problem... Any questions please feel free!!!
  13. I do get a slight smear around where the wiper arm meets the screen, but that's only at motorway speeds, and stops before it gets in the line of sight. the passenger side is fine. have you tried gently bending the arm towards the screen to try and apply more pressure?
  14. I know this is a crap advert thread but in response to AndyW.... this might just be the exception to the rule as it were style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shades:" border="0" alt="shades.gif" />
  15. this is pretty much unenforcable like a lot of the badly planned laws that seem to be getting pushed through, how do they intend to stop people taking a photo? next time I'm up in the lake district and want to photo the lovely views do I have to watch out for the local bobby in his landrover to make sure I'm not about to be arrested... also what will happen to the 'picture of the day' thread? will if have to become the doodle of the day thread??? This wouldn't be as nice to look at would it??? border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" />

    New wheels

I think the new wheels look great, maybe try treating the tyres with some gel/blacking stuff as this always seems to help them blend in a bit better IMO anyway!
  17. if it's a styling thing rather than a weight/strength thing then you can get parts 'carbon dipped' by a few companies. it looks pretty convincing from anything more than a few inches away.... do a google on it.
  18. how about swapping the doors, bonnet and boot lid on the cars... that'll turn a few heads :-)

    nfbr's TDI

Looks like a nice job you're doing there Al. Must be nice to have that as a weekend/project car now rather than your daily driver.
  20. I'd say it's more about smooth power than all out speed with this model, I reckon a 190bhp t-sport with the celica engine will be on it's way any time now, which should be nice. recently had a test drive in a previous generation t-sport which is a 1.5 (103bhp) and I have to say I was a little disappointed in the power delivery, even in the vvti band there didn't seem to be much guts... maybe I'm just spoilt with the tdi's torque nowadays??
  21. I watched this too, and I've seen that loose change film also. I think there are a few things that have been covered up about that day, but nothing to the extent of what some crackpot americans think. The pentagon one is most puzzling if you ask me, the film goes into more detail, even if the CIA/FBI etc don't want to disclose info, then surely other residents of washington would have seen a BIIIG plane scooting over they're rooftops and offices. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":coffee:" border="0" alt="coffee.gif" />
  22. looking very nice and tidy - once again great choice of engine :-)
  23. looks ok apart from the droopy lights at the front. but why are companies still using fake wood on the dash - do you think anyone actually wants it anymore??
  24. not being picky, just thought maybe they couldn't feel a pulse under all that silicone or something.
