  1. I'd agree, but do you just want it for a mess about on a weekend? Or are you going to be doing some serious XC riding/DHing etc. If you just want to mess about, raise the seat on the norco for xc, lower it for DH, Jumps... IMO It's always better to have a stronger bike, with stronger wheels, cranks, to use for all 3, than to use an XC bike for all 3... Yeah you will be shagged doing XC on the norco.. but will make you fitter!
  2. OK I'll give you that, I always used to have issues with buckled wheels and ****ty square tapered cranks on my XC bikes, thank the lord for splined cranks! Bet your hs33's are a pain when you buckle a wheel? I used to have a hs11 on the back of my old bmx, used to love having a decent brake on a bmx for once.
  3. Used to land pretty flat back in the day, but I was a begginer Landing on the back wheel in trails is a bit different to landing a jump though, the top tube/down tube are never going to be affected.
  4. The norco is £500 quid because it's a bike from 2005, so I'm not surprised at the price, but it would be the one I would go for, it will weigh a bit more than an XC alternative, but as soon as you start trying to jump an XC bike it will probably end in tears. I had a 1999 rockhopper made from ritchey cromo steel tubing, was a cool bike, but ended up snapping the down tube after doing a few smallish jumps like this (pic below), but always had a harsh landing from the rockshox jett t2 forks. I think the rockhoppers these days will be alot stronger as the welds seem to be big and have more gussets. Norco's are cool though, and it's something different in the UK, so I'd get that.
  5. Yeah they will fit no probs, AndyP had some on his GTI before.
  6. Noddy you are smoother than silk
  7. Horses are **** scary. Especially gypsy horses that chase you. You may as well spend it on the car, after all you are asking this question on a lupo forum!
  8. Nice cars! love the rear end of the bora, especially the little spoiler. Lupo looks to be down on 40mm, looks simular to when I had my arosa on 15s on 40mm springs.

  10. The brazilian who the police thought was a suicide bomber, but wasn't. The police shot and killed him.
  11. Needs a new wheel design, them wheels have had their time.
  12. What he said ^ I seem to remember someone on here, maybe ramirez running 60mm springs on standard shocks for about 2 years with no problems.
  13. Does your commute to work involve any hills? I have a single speed hardtail, 32t frotn chainring with smallish one at the back, probably putting me in gear 9 constantly. If I experience any harsh hills it is a nightmare, you physically can't ride up them! Can your brother sort you out a test ride, so you can do your commute on it and see what it's like. I agree with no mechs, shifters, cables, something less to worry about.
  14. All the ericssons I have had were bags of ****. I sent my W890 back within a day because it was SO slow, and kept turning itself off. Samsung sliders FTW (samsung flip phones are usually cack).
  15. When using creatine I found that there were advantages and disadvantages. Advantages - You seem to be able to lift a considerable amount more than without using it. - Your muscles do seem to recover quicker, so can train again sooner. - Your muscles seem to grow quicker while using it - maybe its just water retention or simular as people seem to think - I'm not sure what it is. Disadvantages -You have to drink alot of water, or your kidneys start to ache - might've been psycological in my case though. -Because of the extra water taken onboard you need to piss alot more, which can be very inconvinient at work. -In the first week or so you will have the ****s. To be honest if you are just starting out I'd just stick to making sure you are eating right first, have 1g of protein per lb of bodyweight and make sure you are getting all your nutrients from your fruit n veg, meats, etc. If you are lifting the weights and going heavy (but with correct form) and lowish reps then you should grow pretty quickly anyway without the creatine. All in my opinion of course.. I'm no bodybuilder or doctor. also check out menshealth forum for better advice.
  16. Hi there, On that engine a remap would see only about 6-8bhp - so a bit expensive at about 400quid for the power increase. Could get an exhaust and air filter for it to make it breathe and sound better. The lupo sport the 1.4 100bhp model has uprated cams and a larger throttle body I believe, to give it the extra power over the 75bhp model. To be honest I think to get a lot more power out of the 75bhp engine would involve alot of cash, and would be cheaper to either buy a sport already at 100bhp and charge it or buy a gti, or 1.8t it or somethin!
  17. I think it has alot to do with uprated cams.
  18. Was that the FQ400 with the turbo lag?
  19. Rims where the spokes go to the outer edge of the wheel tend to look bigger than they are. The jet looks quite nice.

    195/50 r15

As said above they shouldn't scrub on standard suspension, but if you plan to lower the car then definatly go for the 45 profiles.
  21. Yeah 195 will be perfect. 15's and a big drop would look good, or are you defo after 16's?
  22. The Team dynamics rims will be alot heavier, I had the slipstreams in 15inch and they were about 5.5kg each, which for the price is very light. Here are a few pics of my old car with the rims on, I had them in white with a drop of 40mm.
