luke
As the title says. This is my first post on the forum. At the moment am looking around for a newer car for next year. came across the lupo gti and the polo gti, both very good looking cars with a good spec on them. Just wanted to know youngest driver on here who has a gti and what the insurance is, both polo and lupo gti. Cheers
Adam
I had my gti when i was 20 and i think my insurance was around £1200, but that was with me as a second driver. I've just turned 22 and i have had my own insurance since February and it is now around £950, i'm not sure on the exact amount. That is with no no claims, coilovers and aftermarket wheels. How old are you?Oh and welcome to the club!
Joe
20 maybe although don't quote me on that.I know a couple of 18/19 years olds are currently on the look out. Think insurance wise though anything under 20 and your quote will be £2k ish.Welcome to the club style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> Edited October 25, 2006 by Joe
luke
18 at the moment, but would hopefully be getting one when im 19. I drive a 106 rallye and my insurance is 600 quid as a named driver under my grandad. Just looked on elephant and done a quote a as a named driver but put my age as 19. 3100quid!!! Tryed CIS and it was 998 fully comp with a £250 exese.
Adam
That CIS one sounds like a good quote, but if its completely different from all of your other quotes i would ring up and double check with them that its correct. I always ring up to make sure i know what im getting and what is covered. Pity your car isn't an S2 Rallye, i've got a mate who is after one. You got any pics of yours anyway? They are great cars for the money.
Linz
I was 20 when I got mine. No NCB, and 1 claim, I had to pay an extra £150 on my policy for a 1.1 Saxo. Then when my renewal came in I was 21, had 1 year NCB, aftermarket alloys, and coilovers it was £510. If I remember correctly, the girl from Glenrothes (can't remeber her forum name) that has the silver one is only 19, or was when she got the car. Adam
Linz that is such a good quote, how did you get it down to that? Are you the policy holder aswell?

stevewp
It's going to vary so much depending on where you live too, so these quotes others are giving really aren't going to be much of an indication.Welcome to the club though. Nicki
Like Steve said, some things will have such a large impact on your insurance that its impossible to compare it to other people.Where you live, what you do for a living, NCBs, how long you've had your licence, male/female etc. Edited October 25, 2006 by Nicki

Joe
your occupation will also play a role in the quote style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
kellie
Im 19 now and my Gti cost's me £1,500 to insure. Most insurance companies said i needed to be over 21 to insure with them. I had to go with a proformance car specialist.
Philplop
I was 19 when I got mine, cost an extra £222 on top of my policy for my 1.2 8v Punto, although there was only a couple of months left on the policy, pay £1400 now with unlimited mods as long as they're not to the engine.Quotes vary so much though, so it's not really right to compare them like this. Try brentacre for a quote though.
