So thats roughly 33-35mpg. Hopefully i would get more than that taking it easy. I get 32mpg going to work and back in a 280bhp TT

So what do people expect from a tank from a sport roughly?

Great. Its a sport im going to look at over the weekend. Only journeys i will be doing will be sat at 60mph everyday so very economical route. Would it be realistic to say i could get 45mpg daily as i always got 41mpg out of my GTI...

Hi guys, a little help. Owned a GTI 3 years ago and always got 38-40mpg from it. 4 cars later i now own a TT but looking at getting another Lupo for commuting. Was looking at a 1.4TDI but due to price realistically what do people get out of a 1.4 100bhp Sport and a 1.4TDI? Chris

As you know with mine Luke private plates are a pain to swap - they do look good though!! Love the car by the way. Who would have thought we would both be driving different cars when we both love lupos so much?? An R32 and a cooper S

The latest newss is that the insurance is paying out then im buying it back. Im then going to strip it down and sell off the parts so im basically updating this thread to ask if anyone is interested in anthing off it?? Im keeping the leather seats and door cards, Sat Nav and cambridge lights to go in my next one. The gearbox is probably spoken for but the rest is in the open Let me know Chris

Thanks for all the comments guys. Basically is was tipping with rain. Swerved to avoid an object in the road. The fron left wheel got dragged into the curb on a country road which made me hit a wall @ 35mph head on and flip the car. Weirdest thing was that the car was a complete mess but yet both Xenons were still working?!? Hopefully i can slavage enough from this car to put in my next.

A sad day but the Lupo has gone to car heaven. Tried to avoid something in the road and it went a bit wrong putting the car on its roof deploying all airbags and smashing all the windows. Me and my girlfriend didnt even have a scratch! Real shame as everybody who knows this one would appreciate there wont be another like it. Every conceivable extra including German BBS alloys and very rare climate control. Depending on what i get back from the insurance company i may then buy it back and strip the rest down to sell off parts individually. Im hoping to buy another soon and swap the leather and Sat Nav across so should be staying in the Lupo fold. Luckily i bought a BMW Z3 2.8 a few weeks earlier for the weekends so i shall drive that until i find another. Watch this space as they say........ Thinking about having it done sat on my GTI and wondered if: A: It was worth the power gains B: It doesnt bring on any emission lights etc with the lambda probe there C: It doesnt make the car stupidly loud Chris

I have a few niggly faults with my GTI currently. Some of them are known faults but i thought i would post them up and people could let me know if they have aver experienced anything similar as if so how to go about fixing it and at how much. 1. Starter motor is very noisy on start up when cold - winds itself on for a couple of seconds 2. Drivers window sometimes wont go back up unless you do it in stages 3. High level rear brake light doesnt work 4. The blower motor is very noisy and rattles when cold 5. A very annoying knocking noise is coming from the n/s/r boot area but i cant find out where from Think thats about it - comments appreciated!
