Mike_M
Cheers Sam..........you will be quite impressed when you fit the bar.You could start on the soft setting but think the medium setting is the best so far.........but further and longer testing required
SamGTi
Yep, medium setting for me I think!
Mike_M
Half day today so popped to the local car breakers and attacked a Mk4 Golf to get the bits I was missing on my rear beam for £2........bargin compared to them new from VWand got some new domed bolts to give as much more clearance to the ARB as possible.........peace of mind call it Going to fit in a moment! SamGTi
Having issues mike!See picture...The U Bracket is to big for the rubber holder...HELP! Is it the wrong one? as it doesn't seem to have any give on it.
Mike_M
Looks different to mine for sure. The holes on mine are circular and dont allow movement like in your pic
nayr
With regards to fitting the Lamin-x did you leave the front bumper on?I tried removing mine today and couldnt work out how to do it Did you manage to pull it forward enough to get to the smaller lights?
Mike_M
Unbolted the bumper to slide it forward about 2" without removing the washer jets. There was enough clearance to sort the lamin-x on the lights and then trim the excess

Mike_M
Does not matter as you can trim it. I usually get the widest I can, as use it to hold numberplates also

Mike_M
Small update on my rear suspension. Changed the bump stops as they were breaking down and turning to dust and also changed the rear mounting rubber bushes as they looked a little squashed and the spacer that sits in them had created a lot of play with wear and tear. All changed and a much more solid feeling rear end .Still need to undo the bolts of the rear beam bushes and then do them up again on the car once settled, to get rid of the squeek I get when going over bumps. The rear arb is also on the hardest setting (been like that for a few weeks) and think its perfect once you get used to it and have built your self up to that level from the softest setting. Mike_M
Bought a roll of carpet and finally finished off the rear seats by covering the backs as the metal backings looked a little tired.
