Yeah it has been done. Looked real tidy too. It will be cheap and more performance to drop a 1.8T in for sure, but if you want the uniqueness of having a turbo gti lump then go for it. All be custom stuff tho matey, or ship it in from Germany which be just as pricey at end of it

hi, im looking in to getting just a standard 1.4 lupo and dropping a golf 1.8turbo engine in it do they fit straight in? also what gearbox can you attach to it thats a 6 speed? and also whats the best way from tuning up from the standard golf turbo engine which is around 150hp im loking to go up to about 250hp as i have seen a lupo for sale thats got 270hp but its yellow and i wanna do it all my self and get a garage to do the work, also whats the best brake setup thats no to expensive and the best lowering springs thats are not to expensive?

1.8T A4's are 225 bhp too so i presume so ahhhhh VAG pure hottness

in the a4 same as nearly every vag car the 1.8t comes in diffrent specs

but the turbo in the a4 is the same as the rest so if its the ko4 your after then dont just look for one off an a4

as they are in

s3

leon cupra R

ibiza cupra R

and

TT

not sure if they are on any a4's

if i was you i would use a ko3 on your car as a ko4 is tooo big for your 1.4 you will blow it up in no time

What ECU set up would you have to use other than custom management

I suspect you could use the 1.8T golf ecu?

Been saving up to do this conversion myself but getting Rothe to do it. But now looking at it, the rothe conversion and the conversion on www.turbogti.de is the same. So it would make it a damn site cheaper doing it myself, just not too sure on the engine management side.

what do you think?
