one litre wonder ;)
was it yourself that done it or the previous owner ?? just out of intrest style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> cause if it was you that done it and having to pay for it will more than likely make you a bit more careful style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> i was quoted something in the region of £40 a wheel to get the alloys on me old 106 fixed
cardaft
No it wasnt me, it was the previous owner. Im usually quite careful parking style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> I was planning on just taking that wheel in to get refurbed and put my spare on while its being done.Do you think a refub place can do an exact colour match or would i need to get the rest done?Chris
cardaft
Well it was a nice day so i decided to wash and polich my car, ive been meaning to polish it for ages. Ive tried before but i just managed to add to the swirl marks. So today i used autoglym super resin polish and a microfibre cloth to buff the polish off with, the cloth made such a difference and all the swirls have now gone border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" />Arty pic border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" />Also had a wheel refurbed, so from this: border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" />To this: border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" />Its now on 36,000 miles, so ive done 10K in 5 months, and im loving it style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> Sorry its a boring addition to my readers rides but i just wanted to keep it updated and show that it is finally looking how i want it too and not like a 'used' car as it did before with its dents, scratches and swirl marks.Chris Edited March 5, 2007 by cardaft
Philplop
Very nice and shiny. I washed mine on Monday and was surprised how shiny my car was (really!), it'd been dirty for so long I'd kind of gotten used to it. It's already pretty minging up the back bumper and boot though, just seems to chuck all the muck up. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> Did you get the wheel done at Romax? Looks like a really good job.

Looks like a really good job.I know what you mean lol, mine had only gone about two weeks without a wash but they soon get filthy. I think its the flat back that sucks up dirt, the back is always really dirty. Yeah i took it to Romax, really good service and a top job, it only took a day to do, charged me £40 was supposed to be £45 plus VAT but i managed to get it for £40 all in style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Chris
jon_273
That looks really clean in those photos! Philplop
I saw that (or one like it) 6 wheeler in Middlesbrough. Thought it was mighty strange, never seen one before. Is it standard or some sort of one off thingy?

Thought it was mighty strange, never seen one before. Is it standard or some sort of one off thingy?Yeah it will be ours style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> , yep its a one off, well there are 201 of them, all the other 200 were in france, ours was the last built and the only RHD one in the world, so the only 6 wheeler in this counrty. We had to special order it and only just managed to get it before the company went bankrupt so its quite unique style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> . Has a rear bench seat and one side door, its a realy useful vehicle style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" /> Chris Edited March 1, 2007 by cardaft

I keep pondering a set for mineCheers style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Erm im not sure really, i think they make a different if you drive through a puddle but on wet roads your going to set spray anyway, but i think they probably stop some stone chips on the sills. If your going slow on a muddy road then they do help, but any faster and the mud will just miss the mudflaps. I just like the way they look with them on really style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> Id say go for a set, they are only £40 from the stealers or less from ebay, and they make the car look much better imo style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" /> Chris
