K after much pain l've finally got some pics of my motor up. At the moment its got a pipercross viper kit and a set of KW variant 2 coilovers (Viper pics are pre coilover). I've also got some Samco on order for the inlet but its taking ages to arrive. Will post pics when l get it. Future plans include a Tony Law exhaust system and a set of OZ F1 wheels.....but that all could change. Coilovers are currently set at a 55mm drop at the front and 60mm at the rear. Hope this works

Cheers chief. It definately looks alot better than it did with the standard `set-up`. The pics don't really do it justice as it looks lower in the flesh. I'll try and get some on here taken from the side which is a much better angle.

Looks fantastic mate biggrin.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

Now i know exactly how mine would look if i got some coily's.

Quick questions: Where did you get your KW's from? How much? Where did you fit them? and again how much for fitting?

Ok l got the KW's from www.motorsportworld.co.uk and they quoted me £591 for the variant 1 KW's and £680 for the variant 2's. These prices included VAT and delivery was around £`20-25`. They had them delivered in 10 days straight from Germany. I'd highly recommend them to you, the only minor issue being they are in Scotland (although l won't hold it against them  ).

As for fitting l got them fitted at MSM Vehicle Refinishers in Winterton, Nth Lincolnshire (01724) 733300 and it cost £25 a corner. l have to admit that l could have fitted them myself (l have built a westfield!) but for £25 a corner it wasnt worth me getting my tools out and using a day of my precious weekend up. These guys really are the daddys if the want stuff doing to your motor. They are primarily a body shop which specialises in custom cars and are up for any crazy idea you can come up with although if you come up with something that is clearly a bad idea they will tell you which is refreshing rather than taking your money and doing whatever.

Surely that doesn't help it much, have to extend the pipe down to a one of the front vents to get some propper cold air feed, too much heat under the bonnet will be costing you several bhp.

Well l've had a digital thermometer under the bonnet for the last few weeks and the readouts have come out saying that the air around the lower left area of the bonnet is practically the same as the standard intake area so l'm happy with that, l could get more hose down to the lower grill but A: it'd be a royal pain in the ass to do in Samco and B: l'm not currently convinced that it'd make £100 of difference which is what it would cost. Basically as l can see it the air is currently coming up through the standard vent and is exiting near to my intake as it is. I've noticed a difference in comparison to the standard airbox as it feels much more responsive from 70mph. I'd be willing to bet l've made `5-6bhp` over the standard `set-up`. The hosing was from Demon Tweeks and costs a fortune! Its a `60-70mm` Reducer, 63mm Elbow and 65mm straight with two joiners.

Does anyone know why the TB has heated water running through it (look at header tank and then follow pipe down that comes out top of header)

So basically we r trying to get cold dense air in to engine and as soon as it gets into throttle body it is getting warmed up anyway!!! sad.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

Whats the ride quality like, how hard have you set the dampers to?

So it doesn't freeze in cold climates from ice cold moist air passing through. If the thing froze open you could have a very broken engine smile.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

It's not needed in our climate, but VW build cars for the whole of Europe, so it's there. You can bypass it by just joining the in and out coolant pipes together with a suitable joint, and blocking off the throttle body coolant inlet and outlet to stop muck getting in.

Bear in mind that any warranty you had will be gone. Also, to be honest, the benefit you'll get from it is pretty minimal.

I've got a couple of speed humps to get into for work and it clears them ok. But then as with any low car you get a few that rub a little. Just be selective where you take it!!

Just got a new number plate for the Loop too!!
