I believe it is, though no red tape. Apart from the KWs it going back to original as I said earlier.

I should be at Volkswing @ Biggar today, but my penance is, housework!!!

...and driving to see Amandaa's Mum, darn it; another 100 mile trip...

...50 miles of fun, 2 hours of pain (families!) and hmmm... which way can I go home???

The Arosa is looking very smart :shades:

Cheers! Replacement wheels going on soon!

She needs the stone chips doing and a good clean and polish inside & out.

I was thinking of coilovers, but maybe I'll swap her in for a Polo/Ibiza when the dog gets bigger!

Ooo new wheels! Keeping it a secret are you! Look forward to seeing them B)

Hmm i know what you mean, arosas and dogs dont mix very well ;)

Nothing special, just different. I've only had them for 2 years now.

Drop them off for re-furb tomorrow and the new rubber is sitting in the shed.

Right as said elsewhere the wheels are refurbed and on.

After a first drive to check wheel blance etc. and to take a couple of phot's it seems a bit more responsive.

Photo's of the wheels on..

I'm actually quite pleased, but I feel (as I expected) they need spaced a bit and the car may have to come down a bit for best effect,

Thanks. Yes Tarantulas or 9 spokes from a MK1 GTi.

As I said I'm quite pleased. I didn't want anything to open to show off my rusty drums, but wanted someting different.

Took 2 years plus to get all together and get them on!

Fit nice and tidy on the front discs too.

Paint them!

Ive painted both my TDi and 1.0 drims now, just black, looks much neater :)

Also gave me a chance to clean up the insides of the drums a little and deglaze the brake shoes.

25k and 6 years old.

Just had the Arosa MOT'd and annual serviced inc. cambelt and waterpump kit.

Cost was £282.25 at my local VW Specialist. How does that compare?

Passed MOT with warnings on the discs being pitted and rust on the rear section of the exhaust.

Funny thing is I got warnings on my front bushes last year from another garage, but no mention this time. Self healing bushes anyone?!?!?!

Mechanic says if you're gonna replace your discs don't use VW parts as they're soft and prone to pitting. The ones I got a warning on were replaced when I bought the car 2.5 years ago and have only done 9k.

You can work it out for yourself, but the originals only lasted 16k!

I got to give her a wash and polish now as I'm feeling the love for her!

1.0 brakes are very soft it seems, mine were replaced at 23K, pads were very very worn and the discs distorted, then changed the discs again at 30K for pitting and distortion.

Now the discs are really badly pitted at 39K, looks like only half the discs work against the pads, although the brakes feel spot on, very sensitive. Although it does cause alot of brake dust.

It passed its MOT last month at a local Ford main dealer, but they didnt mention that, had no warnings.

As for the bushes maybe they were being too picky about them

Why not change the pads and discs yourself? Really easy to do. That price does sound a little steep, you should be able to get the parts (discs and pads) for about £60-£80.

Not sure on the exhaust, its done well to last as long though. By rust does it just mean rust or is there a hole? If its just surface rust then its fine, id leave it a little longer, the back boxes have quite a thick casing. Neither of mine have needed exhausts yet.

Ooo a wash! I washed my 1.0 yesterday, hadnt been done in ages, looks a new again!

Sorry, the price was for the sevice, cambelt, waterpump and MOT.

Not a quote for the brakes.

Yes I'll do them myself! Proably at the same time as painting drums and calipers.

Changed the original post to read better!
