Hello, my girlfriends VW Lupo 1.4 S (not sport) has a problem where it is overheating, after trying a few things having the heater on full blast keeps the engine at the right temp but if you turn it off it will start to creep up and overheat again, it has got enough coolant, it has enough oil, any suggestions? Thanks

Try these for starters, with engine up to temperature:

Cooling Fan not switching on - faulty thermostatic switch or wiring

thermostat jammed closed - feel the coolant pipes going to the radiator, they should be hot

sediment in radiator - remove front grille and reach down running your hand over the radiator, should be consistently warm all,  if it’s cold in areas it is likely to be sediment, this reduces the amount of cooling capacity.

Unless your windows don’t open - just keep the heating on till you get it sorted.

Changed the thermostat and housing, flushed the radiator completely, The fan works, still the same problem, radiator not warm at all, bottom radiator pipe stone cold while the top one is hot, any ideas?
