Racheeeel
I haven’t seen any of these replies until now, notifications must go to junk these days. It’s for a 2001 1.4 would a 6n2 bolt straight on to it? Or what would the difference be in a Lupo GTI set up?
Racheeeel
It would appear I have a slight issue...
Rich
you need an axle. but the 6n2 bolts on to any axle with less to mess around with.
LR5V
Whoa - that's savage Has it been a Dons car all its life? My Mk4 suffers with the ridiculas amout of salt they use in Edinburgh. dread to think how much they use in Aberdeen
Racheeeel
You don’t say 😂 Yeah it has always been here - It’s a cracker of a car, every piece of documentation and I just can’t bring myself to give up on it. It’s been sealed a bit underneath but the axle has taken a beating. With just 70,000 miles on the clock it’s shocking! Contacted local dismantlers but no luck. Contacted a few eBay breaking for spares but nothing so far.
mk2
OMG! I thought that i'd seen bad corrosion before, but that is way beyond. I mean way way beyond! Holy cow! yeah, what rich says... what are the rear arches like?
Rich
what's the areas around the bush like? I could see what's about around here?
LR5V
On Gumtree - in Rich's backyard Durham - 1.0l Arosa being broken - seller happy to post at cost, that is assuming they are the same beam?
Racheeeel
Everything else seems to have escaped such bad corrosion. It’s a strange one! So my options for an axle are 6N2 and Arosa or Lupo is that right? Is a 6N2 disks on the rear? How much hassle is going from hubs to disks? Rich
i would stay drums, they're a lot less hassle. rear axle is either lupo or arosa, not 6n2, just the disc stubs if you want them which you don't.
