  1. Yo people just got myself a little lupo, previously owned a mk3 Golf and to be honest never thought i'd buy myself a lupo, as never really liked them. But now ive got one and stuck it on coilovers i fell in love with it! One problem i'm faced with is getting the rear lower, it's on jom coilovers wided down to the lowest and the back is still sitting way high. By the looks of it i'm not the first person with this problem. Has anyone got any experience or useful tips to help me slam the arse end more?

  6. Hi guy's, My daughters car has got some weird ignition problem which I have taken a video of here www.youtube.com/watch?v=keaRezcIOyU&feature=em-upload_owner Has anyone come across this or has any idea what is the cause. Thanks for any help.
  7. Hello, I need some suggestions for an uprated clutch, the car now develops 123hp and 240Nm with further power increases in mind. I'm open to any swaps from other cars, even if I have to machine the flywheel but I don't want to machine to much the gearbox housing. And from what car does the hydraulic clutch actuator fits? The cable one has a long travel and is very hard to press in combination with this gearbox. Thanks a bunch!
  8. I'm not sure if this is right place to ask this, but My Lupo is 1.4 TDI 2001. I'm planning to buy K&N 57i Intake Kit, but there's not model for Diesel Lupos. I'm just wondering does VW Polo 1.4 tdi Intake Kit fit to also Lupo. If someone could be nice and link the right intake kit for me here?
  9. So a few of you will recognise this car, it's been around the block but as long as nothing bad happens with my finances then i'll be keeping this a very long time! I'll let the photos do the talking, there are some potato photos from my phone so I apologize in advance for this! There are photos that i don't own, but found about the internet and various build threads! P.S if you want any of the photos removed then please message me!
  10. Hi, I've got a Lupo GTI and wanted to know if it was possible to run 17" Porsche twists 7j fronts and 8.5j rears. Thanks in advance guys!
  11. iv owned this car now for about a month , iv done quite a bit already but i decided i should keep myself a record of everything iv done and see if it gathers any interest on hear. front back and side
  12. Hello I recently picked up a Lupo 1.4e and have been battling a number of electrical gremlins. So far, have had to replace all coil packs, traced a strange brake light issue where the lights come on, on their own (broken switch on pedal), and wind screen washer not working. The latest challenge is with the drivers side electric window. When I got the car it went up and down smoothly, but lately, when I press the button it will only go down (and up) a few inches a time - takes about 4 presses to make it go all the way down. Sometimes it doesn't move at all so worried it might pack up altogether. Any one out there got any ideas? Thinking not likely to be the motor as it wouldn't move at all? If so, is it the switch? If so, how do I get that out? - it looks like it should prise out but things are seldom that simple...? Anyway - any advice gratefully received Mark
  13. Hello, I Recently bought a sat nav from Garmin and i want to set up the fuel economy part of it, but i have been searching the the internet for the City Fuel Economy and the Mwy Fuel Economy and cant see it anywhere! Well not for the 1.0 litre anyway! Does anyone have the data or a link to a website that could help me out? Many thanks!
  14. Just a quick post.... I was having lots of trouble with water getting in my passenger footwell for ages until I realised the problem... This is a post for everyone else to consider when they are searching for a water leak problem! Basicaly, When the door speakers were mounted to the cars from new, they used rivets and the back of the mooting plates were SEALED to the inside of the door. This prevents the water that is designed to get into the door, coming in the car and simply drains out the holes in the bottom of the door. So when you get your lovely Lupo and someone (the previous owner to mine) has decided to put some s**t aftermarket c**py speakers in instead, make sure you check they're nicely fitted and sealed in some form... Its also not good to use MDF for adaptor plates, as they love water and then your car will be damp... use plastic. Or just get some of the original speakers and fit them, which is what I intend to do! The other benefit of the originals is they had some protection on the back to stop the rear connections going rusty and corroded. Makes me sad that the previous owner also used wood screws to fit his speakers whats wrong with people like that! Hope this helps.
  15. First of all I'm new so hello Today I have placed a deposit on a X reg 1 litre Lupo E. I'm buying the car to insure it on my provisional license, I haven't had much luck with my tests so far. My mum test drove the car for me today, whilst out on the test drive the check engine light came on and the coolant light started flashing. I looked at the temp gauge and it was already over 110 about 2 minutes into the drive. We got back to the sales place and I opened the bonnet to have a look and the coolant was fizzing and looked like it had been spitting out whilst being driven, there was also a trail of coolant along where the car had driven. The sales man has told me he will get the problem fixed before I fully pay for the car, the car was sent to the workshop about 15 minutes later. I was just wondering if anybody had any ideas as to what may be wrong with it because it's currently out of my control and would just like to have a rough idea as to what it may be, instead of just sitting twiddling my thumbs until I get a phone call saying it's done. Thanks, Claire

  17. Has anyone swapped a MK1 Arosa dash for a MK2? Is it a straight swap? Wiring all the same? bolts all line up? heater controls and such the same? If anyone has done it please let me know Cheers James
  18. hi been looking at a 1.7 diesel sdi lupo as first car and looks nice in fair condition for its age 2002. But mileage is quite high at 139k is this ok for diesels? Heard they last for ages. Been offered it for £1k is this a good deal or would you guys stay clear cos of the high mileage. ultimatly want a small car that can get me from a to b so this would be perfect any advice welcome!
  19. Hi guys, I'm a new member I've just went and bought my first car which happened to be a 1.4 Jazz Blue Lupo, picked it up for just under a grand with 70,000 miles on it Here it is... http://www62.zippyshare.com/thumb/8l3GDGlH/file.html Gave it a wax the other day, didn't make much of a difference but does look a bit cleaner http://www62.zippyshare.com/thumb/0N7qL8HV/file.html http://www62.zippyshare.com/thumb/8WONLIDx/file.html I've not really done anything to it as of yet apart from silly stuff like a stubby aerial, rubber mats etc. I will get coilovers but I've not even passed my test yet so don't really want to play about with the suspension just yet, was thinking about AP's as they're not too expensive but still have decent reviews. Not too sure on what wheels to get, was thinking about a few tbh. I thought 15" Mini One wheels painted white would like pretty cool... ones like these http://img.coches.cozot.es/pics/uk/2014/08/15/MINI-ONE-SALT-PACK-MILES-FSH-20140815002915.jpg Anyone got the proper name for those wheels? was also thinking about deleting the bump strips and the Lupo badge and to get black VW badges. It will probably be a few months until I do anything major like coilovers but I will post it on this thread when its done. Oh, I've also noticed a few issues with it. The boot lock is completely seized, the handle works and it opens fine but the lock just doesn't move so its constantly open. It does look very corroded and will probably need a new lock barrel - does anyone know if its easy to replace? also I was driving the other day and the exhaust emission light came on, should that be anything to worry about?
  20. Looking for a Lupo GTI gearbox. Preferably 6speed, but would consider a 5 Wanting one ready to fit with not too high mileage and smooth changes. Cheers
  21. hey guys, my front wheel bearing is making a god awful racket. i think its the front passenger bearing. I've heard that changing them can be a bit of a job, is it better to replace the bearing or buy a new hub with the bearing already in? Also, if its easier to buy a hub, any ideas where from? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Adam Picture of the car if anyone is interested http://i.imgur.com/FkF2yq3.jpg

    Exhaust modding

Hey guys, quick question, has anyone tried modding their backboxes? What i plan to do is cutting the "piggy tail", downwards facing small pipe from the back box, drill a lower hole in the backbox (should be possible, since the backbox is oval ) - that should give some room to pull a straight pipe with chrome tips that doesn't need bumper cutting.
  23. hey guys, just noticed that in my 02 arosa, the cigarette lighter's power isn't switched by the ignition, it's on constantly. (when the ignition is off the outlet still supplies 12v when it should supply the power when the ignition is on.) Any help you have on this issue, causes or how to fix it would be much appreciated. as i need 12v switched power for my dashcam to work correctly. Thanks, Adam
  24. i was wondering is there a way i could take the power steering off of my gti and buy a manual rack of a old lupo? would it be a direct bolt on job? i think it should be as there are the same shell??? cheers.
  25. Hey there everyone, my names Jonny and I’m 15 so I don’t drive anything I’m afraid but my brother got a 1.0 E lupo in soft blue back in August as his first car and I love it! This is how it looked when he first got it (sorry for awful pictures) So since then I have been doing all sorts to it. I started by painting the steel wheels black for underneath the trims but we preferred it without the trims so I started to look for some centre caps and found these bad boys on ebay. Old polo centre caps after that I blacked out all of the badges and colour coded the front after that I stared to paint some scratches and rock chips on the car rat look then I had enough of the skanky plates so I got some nice clean pressed plates then Id had enough of full black steelies so I painted a silver rim then a good clean then I installed some new pioneer front and rear coaxial speakers after that I bought some genuine mudflaps and some nice roof bars and then this week I have been wrapping the interior plastics in glossy black before: during: after: well that's all for now, thanks for looking I am open to suggestions
