2002 VW Lupo 1.7 SDI black for sale with 147k miles good runner with 5 months MOT left also taxed so ready to drive away. Had a second hand gearbox along with a new clutch on Feb 2016 that had done 71k miles. Cambelt and timing belt changed on Dec 2015 last serviced sept 2015. Fuel filter and air filter changed in summer bought oil filter but haven't had time to change the oil. 4 alloy R15 wheels came with car not to everyone's taste. Good tread on all tires except right front passenger which was a remould (see pic) runs well and is a reliable workhorse. Fixed heater which didn't work when I got the car (only worked on no4 but now all works) passenger window doesn't work possibly dodgy motor or window runners haven't had time to sort it out. Central locking works 90% of the time. Also had some respraying to cover up car park scrapes on passenger wings it's not pretty but covers it up. Open to offers looking for £900.

changed fuel filter and added some diesel additive definatly perked it up and power is back still struggles when u get to 50mph in fifth but hopefully should be solved

hi thanks for help guys im taking it to a vw specialist on saturday that im told are reasonable and know the parts etc so hopefully they should sort it. and minime4ft if it turns out i need a new fuel pump i will give u a bell. Thanks

yeh its pretty loud but dont think theres any smoke. the loss of power is for a long time it came back for a day once but then next day went back to being slugish i have a feeling its the solenoid but dont really no

its only in the last 2 weeks that it been doing this was running fine before

it was serviced in september 2015 i assumed he changed the fuel filter but i havnt actually inspected it cambelt and timing belt was done in december also

yeh 2 places iv been to have given prices of 500-600 for refurb pump one place ripped me off by charging 70 quid for the diagnostics test not had much luck with this car gearbox and clutch cost me like 600 in march now this only payed a 1000 for it

ah unsure tbh mate i dont no a great deal about cars, they checked injector and that was ok must of meant the injector pump then

Not sure like sometimes it returns to normal and will sound how it used to but after 5 mins goes back to noisey revs. Unsure what to do tbh spent a lot on it with the gearbox worried that it's turning into a money pit so if I can't find an option that costs 300 or under Guna havta sell what would people pay as spares/repair?

Haha yeh tell me about it well it's even slower than usual struggling on hill and the revs drop when changing gear also engine running is loud. The diagnostics test showed a timing error And pointed to the fuel pump solenoid but they weren't able to get to it so it wasn't certain it was that.

Hi guys having problems with my lupo after sourcing a gearbox the next problem is the fuel pump the car has a timing issue which points to the fuel pump could be the solenoid but not sure had some crazy prices for fuel pump one place said 500/600 trying to keep it cheap or otherwise will havta get rid of this money pit. Any one got Experiance of this problem it's causing the acceleration to be slow and have hardly any power.

Had a quote from them for 550 for reconditioned gearbox for lupo sdi 1.7 and was wondering if anyone used them before? They said they don't accept PayPal and use bank transfer which set alarm bells ringing
