  1. Most likly oit will be a poor ground connection. Where have u connected the ground to the body???? best thing is to drill or use a existing whole then clean all the paint away 50p sized clean area then attatch the ground with a really good quality bolt.
  2. new ampiiii lol audison LRx 2.500 Hopefully it will put enough power out for my needs Still waiting on the shiney one
  3. They will give you more everything. Think you need to have a go in a car with a propper sound quality stereo, think you will realise how poo the standard units are. And how much of the sound you arnt able to hear with the std stuff. P.S make sure its a aftermarket audio system, avoid listening to a factory fitted systems. Like the audi bose stuff, they are usually worse than the standard setups.
  4. No 90% of lupo doors will be wet inside, this wont affect your cone's unless they have been sooked through. And doubt that would happen in lupo doors. have you just got them running off your headunit??? if so you will not get any midbass from them anyways, mainly because of 3 things. 1. Small power from the headunit 2. they are coaxials 3. Alpine speakers are poor at midbass. (except £800 F1's) to increase the front stage bass you will need to 1. sound deaden the doors an made some nice mdf baffles. 2. seal the doors to make them more of a air tight enclosure 3. have them running off a amp 4. Buy some componant speakers instead
  5. Yeah maybe loop owners aren't as 'GAY' as polos either!!
  6. Looks great as usual Ryan! keep the G60's for now please.
  7. NO tbh their the best speakers you could have if you didnt want to amp them. You'll find if you amp them you'll have a better depth of stage an more detail. But if your not a audio freek like some running of the headunit will be just fine. best bet would be to sound deaden an seal up all the holes in the doors. Look at my readers ride an that will show how to seal the lower door
  8. Yes those focals are pretty good, but they do really need a amp. Otherwise your loosing so much detail, when u think a half decent amp gives out 80wrms and a headunit maybe 20rms Max. The tweeters can be mounted in the stock locations, With the mid just drill the rivits that attach the old mids in, then mount the mids and the mdf rings to the door.
  9. Are you taling about the ones that ste lockley had made for his yellow S3?????
  10. If you want sound quality you need to go for the Becker, well out of those 3 choices. Id personally go for a pioneer P88RS or a alpine 9887. If you wanna keep std speakers for a while you could just add some sound deadening to the doors, then just seal the doors up. Could made some speaker baffles too. But to make a huge difference u need some new componants an a nice 2 channel amp, but need to be mounted well with plenty of deadening.
  11. Another typical loop gti owner hehe.....
  12. I reckon you should look at the basic 993's then. We have a 993 2S, so it's the turbo body but no turbo an rear wheel drive. Put some kw v3's on it nice tyres an your away. Oh an servicing isnt that bad tbh £500 a year with a main porsche dealer. So far a set of brakes have last 3 trips to the nurburgring and tyres last around a year
  13. Looks awesome RYAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But i'm sure their is some dirt on those tyres of yours. Looking forward to see what you do with this now, hopefully you keep it hehe
  14. The only difference i've know is the gti have a higher front dampening an spring factor, due to the extra weight of the engine and added performance. I have gti spec fk coilovers on my 1.0 an they fitted fine.
  15. Your ever so slightly starting to worry me - fit std steel with snow tyres, work well until u meet a 5ft snow drift (know from experiance) - layer up with a hard waxes like collernite, then dont wash it till march - Copper grease every suspension bit know to man.. abit over the top, but i do live in a place that last year the loop was stuck for 2months in snow
  16. Thats ok then, nice to know it wont cause me too much trouble It should be ok aslong as i only upgrade the front, if i wanted to change to rear disks i would need to go for a gti master cylinder. We did this on our old mk1 an we didnt have any problems. thanks guys
  17. You can get a sound deadening matt like dynamat wich u can use to stop vibrations noise, then you can lay down a thick closed cell foam that will stop air born noise try www.caraudiodirect.co.uk and look under sound deadening
  18. I know this has proberbly been covered hundreds of time but i wanted to check before i spent the wedge. I'm looking at changing the brakes setup on my 1.0 (non ABS) So will I be looking at polo gti/lupo/16V hubs carriers calipers the lot. But how will mine with not having ABS work with the gti setup with the abs sensor???? And will the polo 6n/6n2 stuff just bolt up to the lupo, or will any of steering connectors an driveshafts not match up????
  19. All fixed now. Had the throttle body idle sensor changed, and clean out the throttle body an intake manifold. Oh an i had a whole 12 fault codes on the diagnostics haha. Most of them down to me dragging the exhaust down our drive everyday. Anyways runs great now with no light hehe, just need to get a new front exhaust section now to stop the dodgy leak lol
  20. Yes your wrong Avoid 6x9 like the plaige. Just get some nicly mounted front comps an a smallish 10" sub in the rear an your onto a winnerish.
  21. Changed the temp sensor last night nd it didnt cure the epc light and the dodgy idle.] Messed with the throttle body connector abit, sprayed a little wd40 in the throtle body connector then it idled fine after that. The light kept on poping up but it ran fine. So I got back disconected the plug again gace it a clean up and another spray, then i started playing up again, dodgy idle an epc light ARGHHHHHHHHHHH
  22. i have 165-50-15 on a 15x7 at the moment, and their fine a little dodgy in the wet but usually take it easy anyways. An do look pretty sick hehe
  23. from taking the snow tyres off to putting snow tyres on. So from now march till now. Worked out that still is around 13k miles for me hahahahahhahaha
  24. The Big winter rebuild has started, so in need for some fresh paint. And the major bit will be the interior and the new audio setup New audio has started to arrive today. It's a Focal 27kx 11" wooo This will mean a new boot build to accomodate the focal sub, as i want to show this end off abit Still waiting on a couple of amps an mounds of wiring, plus my BIT ONE WOOOOO. Think it's gonna be pretty shiny in the back with the focal backplate and a couple of Audison Black Chromes which will look like this. Think the colour of the wood will go quite nice with the plans for the interior hehe. Gonna be a struggle for Udubs next year, but hopefully it will be there all finished lol
