  1. Just couldn't afford it this year, planning on doing a few festivals next year tho maybe the big chill depending on what the line-ups like Have a good one when you go!
  2. Not going this year but went the last two!! Definitely a festival worth considering for those of you that want to ease yourself into what a festival is all about, not too hectic like glasto but a nice chilled atmosphere (hence the name)
  3. I recently drove over in France and bought some headlight deflectors from Halfords which were suitable for use on xenon headlights..............didnt have any cars flashing me or anything so I assume they worked perfectly fine Its the ones which came in this pack(see link below) and you only use the circular parts of them, you dont have to buy the pack with the GB sticker tho and can get them on their own. http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/...ategoryrn_78406
  4. Oh ******! That much style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":o" border="0" alt="ohmy.gif" /> Well best check it is that then................ Basically car started fine this morning, drove about 25 miles, all fine the parked up for about 2 minutes. When I tried to start the car again it was completely dead. Called out recovery who managed to jumpstart the car, and reccommended taking it for a spin to get it charged up again, which I did. Then my ABS light and airbag lights came on and the car died, so took the battery off and had it checked, all was fine apart from it was completely dead but would charge and hold a charge (which makes me think its the alternator). The guy who checked the battery put his battery testing gizmo on the battery with the car running and there doesnt seem to be any charge going into it from the alternator............... Is it as simple as the alternator being knackered or could it be something else??
  5. My alternator has packed in, any one got any ideas how much a replacement costs? Thanks in advance
  6. Nope it just removes one of the Jacks and changes the suit of all other cards, so youve got no chance of beating the so called ESP test style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
  7. Damn!! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" /> Oh well cheers anyway bud, at least its fixed now ready for when I drive over to the South of France next week!! woooo
  8. It turned out that it wasn't the track rod end but the steering arm that it bolts onto, ended up costing £118+VAT for the side I needed (the cheaper of the two sides as its shorter than the other side). Oh well at least its all fixed now, and no more juddery/ knocking whilst turning
  9. Cheers matey thats a great help, at least now I know I dont need the whole arm
  10. Its the offside I need, advisory notice on th MOT says its the inner steering ball joint so i take it it's the track rod end?? Am i correct with that? Ta

Its off Ross's Gti, so it's used, however I dont think he had it on long and I've never used it, think it would work on both Lupo and Polo. It even has the hole for the lambda probe to be screwed back into. PM me if you want it and we can sort out payment and delivery etc. Cheers Darren
  12. Had my 90k service and MOT done yesterday and I need a new track rod end, any ideas how much this costs? Apparantly you have to buy the whole steering arm and cant get the end seperately is this true? Cheers Daz

  20. Well may put it up for a bit more and see what happens, that is if i decide to sell. Well when I bought the car they were only going to offer me £800 for my 1992 EG Civic (just over 2 years ago) and I wanted at least a grand so I asked how much the leather option was - £1300 from what I remember, and said if they put the leather in then they have got themselves a deal. So basically it was just a leather retrim by the garage they use for their leather repairs etc. Well i could easily take the tints out and put the standard airbox back on so selling it standard wouldnt be a problem.
  21. Sorry to ask the same old question but I may be thinking of selling my GTi and wondered what sort of price everyone thinks would be about right. The spec is as follows: -2002 51 plate -Reflex Silver -5 Speed -Approx 84,000 miles -Leather (although this was added by VW on request when I bought the car (when it was 2 years old) so doesn't have the heated option -Air con -BMC -Tinted rear windows (sides silver fade to black, rear all black) -Cam belt and clutch replaced at 64k, never missed a service although not at VW, instead through a garage where a friend works. Generally maintained regardless of cost. The car has a few minor blemishes on the front and rear bumpers (paint flaking off rear about the size of a 5p and scuff about inch long on lower half of front bumper) nothing major. So what sort of price would you all suggest? Ta Daz
  22. If you mean LED bulbs then you need type 380 (also known as type 501 - or is that for headlight bulbs?? cant quite remember) as far as I know. They will last much longer than normal bulbs if you get a good quality set, which will run on the same voltage as normal bulbs and are the same bayonet type fitment. Perfectly legal regarding your MOT as well as long as they are red bulbs and not any other colours. Try here http://www.ultraleds.co.uk/product_info.ph...368193b7f6b1dd1
