  1. small motors don't map that well. it's all about mechanicals and keeping away from silly electronic superchargers.
  2. go get drunk birthday boy. pink triangle as usual ?

    16" on a loop?

awww, you've ruined my year now. it's only speculation from me but theoretically I should be right. It'll be interesting to know.
  4. I had a 1.4 mk3 golf a while back. I wanted more speed. Everybody said buy something different, something faster. however I liked this car. despite what I was told I looked into many different things and eventually got the ABD up to about 80 bhp. it's all about proving people wrong. to quote a post I made on another site lately about this : "get a polo GT cam, throttle body, inlet manifold and injectors. Convert the car to polo GT multipoint using the ecu and air flow meter. basically you have a 1.4 polo GT engine. then you use a mk2 8V air flow potentiometer with the polo gt air mass meter. Also a decat and a four branch would help. (from a polo GT) voila, more power from a 1.4. " go do things your own way.
  5. I may buy a one litre and fit some parts I've got lying around which should make it stupidly quick and see how long it takes to make the thing go bang. I'd do it in an mk4 polo though.

    16" on a loop?

do you mean literally ? IE: you're going to stick your head under?
  8. but what bits could you add to a one litre which will actually give it a 25 - 50 % increase ?

    16" on a loop?

I don't really think so because the GTI is just a standard shell with some extra bits stuck on so theoretically the space should still be there on the insides. go stick your head underneath !
  10. It's not like I'm being harsh on a serious question however when people put up posts like these you've got to realise they have no idea about basic mechanics. anything will go onto anything with a few bolts ? never the case.

    16" on a loop?

yeah but my method doesn't involve the wider arches and goes for an oem theme. although it would be more of a dick on.
  12. when I had a 1.4 I whipped the airbox off to find it full of oil. try looking into this if you've never done it as it could be coming from there. the oil return on these engine's is silly.

    drive out

he's with me on a drinking and corsa destroying mission. then I'm going to slap a new engine in his car and make him come on a night out.
  14. pimp in every way. I'd chuck 20 quid towards the respray.
  15. I'd go to the scrappy, buy some rear ones and just stick them back on.
  16. I didn't actually know I had one of these till the other days.
  17. cough. I fitted one on a 1.4 mk3 golf and it was easy. I used a rage reducer pipe and simply welded it onto the old one which I'd sawn off. took me about 30 minutes. it spent about a week on the car.

    16" on a loop?

if I had an actual GTI and I wanted to go for some kind of silly width, I'd downgrade the wide track beams for standard ones, combine this with the wider arch's and you'd be able to achieve a real sense of width.
  19. things like this amuse me. surely if you want a faster car, can't you just go buy one ?
  20. I have a friend at GSF and ECP. I play them off against each other all the time.
