  2. Single wiper and a sun strip! How 'early 90's'!
  3. Has anyone on here gone for the rally look with their Lupo's? The GTI, with it's flared arches and twin pipes could pull it off i wreckon. I'm talking things like: White Comp Mo's Mudflaps Bonnet catches Stripped/Caged Bonnet catches Buckets/harnesses Spot lights Air intakes Yes, i know it's a Polo...
  4. Saxo's sound brilliant! Especially a VTS with a decat and supersprint/pugsport back box! To answer your question, any straight through backbox will give you some noise. If you keep your standard centre section and cat then no matter what backbox you fit, it won't be too loud and should just add a bit of bass to the note. It depends on how you want it to sound too and also how loud you want it.
  5. My GTI is great on fuel to be fair. Although when the needle gets to half way it seems to drop rapidly to empty. :S My GTI is by far the best all round car i've ever bough and i've had some pretty iconic cars! It does everything, economical, quick, cheap insurance, reliable, looks great, cheap parts, handles well, easily modified, eats up motorway miles etc...
  6. I had one of these on my old Astra. The problem i found was that it was adjustable, but it didn't have a gauge on it to set the pressure. So when i did manage to get a gauge on it, i found that it didnt maintain constant flow and was causing my lumpy tickover and when you intially 'boot it' there was a lag and it would hesitate before taking off. I'm sure they have their uses, but certainly not on a standard 1.0.
  7. Is it complete with valves/guides etc or is it just a bare casting?
  8. Heres some info on how i lightened mine... http://forums.clublupo.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=53645&st=0&p=952919&hl=flywheel&fromsearch=1entry952919
  9. I'm not sure if there are any off the shelf flywheels available. I lightened mine myself and i would certainly do it again. It made no real difference to driveability, but it sure revs up quicker and pulls through the higher rpm's a lot quicker.

  11. Thats cus the early ones like mine and yours are the rally versions!
  12. If you've got 280mm brakes i'd be going for a good quality OE disc and pad. Something like Pagid. 280mm brakes are more than enough to stop a Lupo, so i don't really see the need in buying uprated parts for them. If you insist on non-standard, it'd have to be the Carbon Lorraine pads from Kam. A better place to start would be braided lines all round, with new pistons/seals in all calipers and some DOT 5.1 fluid to make them work as efficiently as possible. Have you thought about a Brembo setup off the Ibiza Cupra R?
  13. I heard that the turbo engine is actually a Peugeot unit! Not sure if that's true or not! If it is, then that's enough to put me off one! Lol
  14. A lad i know got caught doing 143mph in a 30, past a secondary school at 2.45pm, in an old Astra GTE on my road, in my old car! It made the papers and local news. He got community service and a 2 year ban. He continued to drive on his ban, then 2 weeks after the ban period got caught doing a reverse donut on his 'friends' lawn and got banned again! Lol Yes, he's an asshole of the highest calibre and doesn't deserve to walk the earth. Never worked a day in his life and is into crack and car crime. Scum, sub-human scum.
  15. I really like the look of the Ignis sport. They're ugly in a cool way and look kind of rally (especially yours with the big flaps). Not as quick as a Loop GTI though...
  16. Morrisons fuel is known to be the worst fuel you can buy.
  17. My GTI leaks from the winscreen, onto the corner of the roof lining, then drips onto the dash and onto the floor.
  18. Evo 6 every day of the week. £6-8k would get you a minter too!
  19. First port of call would be clutch. Where is the biting point?
  20. They are GTI specific ones, but they've been on a few years. I'll be swapping back to a standard, non adjustable, coil over shock arrangement soon hopefully. I'm running an awesome roll bar, which helped, but the spring weights are just too low for my liking. It's comfortable though!
  21. A GTI replica spoiler in carbon fibre would be a MUCH better bet. They look a little... 'strange'?
  22. My AP's are too soft! They give too much body roll when shifting weight through corners.
  23. In my opinion, theres nothing wrong with a car thats been regularly revved to the redline. ...provided it's never revved hard from cold and has regular oil changes. I'd rather have a car thats clearly been thrashed and well maintained, than one that's been driven like a granny, but with oil changes every 10k miles. Mine hasn't missed a beat and is now on 107,000. I'm very heavy on my cars and i've done 30 odd thousand (relatively) faultless miles in it.
  24. What sort of weight can be lost from rally slagging a GTI and what does this equate to in terms of kerb weight? I'm talking fairly hardcore. I.e. back seats, door cards, rear wiper setup, boot carpet, poly carb windows, airbags etc etc. Not as hardcore as getting rid of anything behind the dash though, such as blowers/heater matrix. Lol
