Tom_C
Had someone smash my Drivers side wing mirror. The electrics still work, but the housing is pretty destroyed. Is there any other volkswagen mirrors that will fit. Like a polo or arosas. Pictures to follow of damage.
danoid
Find the person who done it and make them find a new nose! I'd imagine Arosa and Polo would fit but cannae confirm

rob_pandy
you can rebuild it if the base is ok. you can change the red cover glass and under side strip.the polo one is the same parts but the base plate that fits to the door is a different fitment
Tom_C
We'll the black base seems fine. The electrics still work. However the most damage is to the aluminium backing of the mirror. (Not sure what metal it would be) that has a crack. May look at having it welded. Pics will be on when back from work.
RobG
The cap? It's plastic, and it just pulls off (pull firmly straight upward) They're about 35 quid from a dealer in primer, I managed to get a new one for the same price painted on ebay. Tom_C
Yea I know about cap that's fine. It's the metal backing to it. Behind the back f the mirror, it's cracked that's the main problem at the moment.
GeoffD
I think that the non electric bit is the same as far as the aluminium bit is concerned and there are more of them about. geoff
