Piers
No offence. But if your price range is 3k for a gti. You won't get a 20v in a Lupo.
Mr-B
I got the engine sitting around just thought instead of seeking it ill put it in. So ill get the 1.4 and swap them out at the weekend nice one

TArosa
Just looked at that thread u posted make that a few weekendsa few rough weekends, followed by a few more rough weekends, sorting all the problems after it's first few runs out.
Piers
It's not a straight swap. Yes it will fit in. But only due to space. You need modified engine mounts. Driveshafts.... You would need to change the brakes... Suspension.... Wiring loom. The list goes on.
Rich
This should be fun.Just get a mate with a welder and buy him a pizza one Saturday morning and it will be easy.
JoeA
Just put the intake manifold and turbo on the 1.4. You'll need to put around 10% antifreeze in the oil though.
TArosa
Cant you just strap the engine to the roof ??
Piers
TArosa, yeah it has been done like this before but iv heard the best way is to put it in the passenger seat position upside down.
JoeA
Make sure the seat is all the way forward to improve boost.
Piers
Make sure the seat is all the way forward to improve boost.and recline it to exactly 2.5 degrees. This allows for better cooling and reduces lag when you add the larger turbo. Make sure that the turbo you get is 1398mm in diameter otherwise it wont work
TArosa
Hahha that's where I'm going wrong with my engine mods ha... I heard that fluffy dice improves the fuel economy on passenger seat engines, it this true?
Rich
I have fluffy dice, they're pink and I think that they definately incread economy.
Piers
Yeah fluffy dice work but they have to be the pink ones. Any others just block the injectors. Remember to run the exhaust into the base of the drivers seat, saves buying heated seats and wiring them in
TArosa
shall we all chip in and create the most ecenomical and powerful lupo ever using this theory?... should only cost about £2.65 + the pizza and take aqround 15 minutes
Skezza
TArosa, I already have the most powerful, awesome, economical Lupo ever (last few weeks I've been averaging about 60Mpg at 200Mph), its all thanks to my mate zingy, he's attached to my rear view mirror. He is my engine maintenance guy, he used to work on F1 cars a bit like Jay from the Inbetweeners did too I believe, and I reckon he's the key to my ultimate success. Latest testing suggest 0-60 in about 2.4 seconds and BHP of approximately 75000000000000000000000000000001.Car is a Lupo SDI with a sticker on the window, kkthxbye. No need for a GTI, I got zingy!!!Zingy whoop Edited February 14, 2013 by Skezza
